You've got two chances of me doing a build log, fat chance and no chance. :D

The only log ill be doing in the next 24 hours is on the toilet with a copy of the sun. It won't be a mini log, thats for sure.

Let me know if you want any photo's of that. :p

EDIT

Btw i decided to avoid the tape and go with the Arctic glue stuff.

Very disappointing and no thanks to your offer.

Matt u need to ring me and we can talk each other thru it! I'm bricking it badly cause if I ruin my card ill be so bored without bf3 over Xmas lol :)

Thats what ill be using. We can do it if we B & Q it.

Yeah lol id be pooping my pants too, even a tiny mistake can cause bad temps so i hope you both do a decent job :P

How do you even measure a fine layer?

Good luck :)

Question.

Where do you we put the clear plastic strips? That's the only part im not clear on atm.

I've also found a better picture to use of where the heatsinks should be. This is different from some of the other reviews ive seen online but this seems to be a better position for some of the sinks. This is the one i will be copying me thinks.

Never did work that one out to be honest. I know they're there to stop metal on the sinks shorting against metal on the PCB, but couldn't really see where they were meant to go. Can't actually remember if I even fitted them in the end, so probably not that important!

Hmm, that still worries me Stu. :D

Ted from DPD is due between 12-1pm so hopefully someone has an answer by then.

The clear strips go against the edges of the chokes on the PWM's. There are metal contacts there that can short if you have a heatsink against them.

This guy has done a video that might be helpfull...

Using a decent rubber on the Ram chips and Vrm chips is also very important as the stock heat pads leave an oily residue.

I know there is one set here

But where is the other?

That's it. That is the only place I put the strips and as far as I can tell the only place they are needed. I put a strip on the choke side and a strip on the other side just to be safe.

Two stripes there hmm? So one strip on the metal bit and one strip where? Dumb it down as much as possible. :p
