This thread is comedy purely because of the BS flying around it....How can this thread or any of them be taken serious, when after so many Reviews clearly state the 680 is faster, certain individuals refuse to believe it?
I will grow up when honesty hits this thread.

Ironically whenever I rip on Apple fans on Facebook they all tend to come out in droves. Even though what I usually say is completely correct.
The truth sometimes hurts. Sometimes it rubs people up the wrong way as it's not what they want to hear. Cue my mate, who queued up outside a shop for a nice handwarmer (Ipad 3 or whatever the damn name is).
He now refuses to accept that his device has heat issues, nor that half of what they have bolted on to it is all pointless tat. Nor that my Ipad 1 can run games equally as well as the Ipad 2 he just sold to get an Ipad 3.
If you know any Nvidia owners who would sell a card six weeks after paying £430 to replace it with an AMD one that was equal to it? then I am all ears.
Only Nvidia can make people do that. And don't worry, I'm not bashing on or insulting any one because it's just how it is. And yes, it's very similar to the way Apple have this hold on people.
I'm certainly not tarring every one with the same brush of course, because I myself am a bit of a closet Nvidia fan. I must say I do like the hype. However, I don't like it when they bend the truth. And that is what I feel they have done with the 680.
By now any one still reading this thread will have noticed the several links, reviews and articles which state that the 680 is equal level with the 7970.
By now any one who truly believes that not to be so will have chucked a strop and stopped reading it, and quite possibly has me on ignore.

Mate of mine showed me his Ipad 1, fell in love. Look, I'm not saying they aren't good, just like I am not saying that Nvidia 680s are not good. However, what I do know is that Ipads are bloody expensive ! And, each one has been perfectly fine and you really don't need to rush out and buy the next one.
What does the Ipad 2 have over the Ipad 1? dual core graphics ! wow. So there's a dual core GPU that isn't programmed to work with any games because the single cored Ipad 1 still exists. It has a camera ! wow. So I shall throw my Sony in the bin and go and buy an Ipad 2 !
Fact is that as much as Apple want me to believe that my Ipad is worthless and rush out and buy an Ipad 2/3/4/5 it isn't. It does everything I wanted it to, and has since I got it.

They fell for it. Yet, had a trustable well viewed review site had been more honest they wouldn't have fallen for it.
Probably not much, but it's not like Apple are the only ones guilty of this, and the ipads are always quite nicely priced compared to other tablets, its only the lack of upgradable space that puts me off getting one.
Some people make a lot of money, and want the very best for what they play, if the 680 is noticeably better in that game(s) then they will get one.
I wouldn't a i have never bought the top card, and never will, but not up to me to tell other people what to spend their money on.
What review sites are you claiming are lying about the 680 performance, they all looked pretty legit to me, tbh those charts above that you just posted actually look very fishy.

I honestly feel the 680 is the better card after reading review after review. You can see this for yourself surely?
I've not said they were lying. Just that they were unfairly comparing cards.
The 680 overclocks itself, overclocking is a part of the enthusiast PC market. Infact, it's critical now. No one buys stuff that doesn't overclock.
Thus, many reviewers realised what the 680 was doing from the off and thus put the cards up overclocked to compare them. The result? dead even. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. 680 is quieter, 7970 has more vram.
As for the rest? corporation tactics mate. Note how many Modern Snorefare / COD games have been milked using that nasty old engine. Yet people still wait outside shops dressed as marines lmao.

I'm not trying to force you to accept it Greg, because it's just a fact. So I suggest if you don't want to accept it nor like it please don't read this thread any more.
As much as they can. Tom had the 680 to 1250 and of all the other reviews I have read I have not seen any one else get it that high. 1200 on another one.
As for the rest? as I say, read the thread. There is even one that does the testing clock for clock. And, clock for clock they are dead level.
They gave it a gold reward and said it is still better than the 7970 for power consumption and heat.
So I still want one. I would however believe that if one single reviews results vary so much to every other, then that one review is the anomally.

At stock yea its faster no doubt and nobody is saying any different. The 5870 was faster than the gtx470 yet all the nvidia fans at the time went on about how good it was at overclocking. Was the 5870 a better card than the gtx470 when both were overclocked. The answer is no and its the same with the 7970 v the gtx680. It was ok for the nvidia guys back then but somehow its not ok now that its an amd card that is the good clocker.
The GTX 680 us clearly the best card right now, even according to the review you posted its the performance per watt king.
According to every other review, its the definite performance king too. I still want one, plus it does physx and 3D vision.

It does 3D vision in Ultra on BF3 smooth as silk. I can't believe how much better the trimmings make this game look.
Good point, we have no idea what measurement the scale is in, its what can probably be called noob graphs done by an amateur.
