8800GT Ramblings Thread

LOL @ the likes of willhub etc

"Oh Im going to stay up all night and sit on the F5 key, can't wait £140 delivered etc etc :p"

Fat lot of good that did be lucky to even source one today.

got mine ordered @ 137 - nice increase in price - they better honour the original order price!!!

I doubt you will get it at that price. The other site will probably cancel your order as it's most likely a pricing error.

They do not have to honour that price unless they have already taken your money, otherwise there is no contract of sale yet.

supply and demand never changes.well done to all who got thiers cheap as it seems a lot of e-tailers have bumped the price up.

Has your price now changed?

Its gone up in the search results, but in my control panel its still the same. They either did it on purpose to ensure a huge order through their site, ir it was mispriced (all of them) which I doubt.
I remember ordering something from MAC once that was mispriced by £180 and they cancelled all the orders, as it was covered in there T&Cs.

Did no one see this coming, Lets be real OcUK are in business to make money and with everyone clambering to get there hands on a GT of cause there gonna take advantage, just like some of you who sold some poor saps your old GTS's for close to price of a ne GT.

I'm olding out to mid December :)

Last laugh will be his though. Nowhere near the money you paid second hand for your GTX but just about the same performance :o. Seems as if Will's got a good deal on his hands.

Can I just point this out from the FAQ

We, Overclockers UK (OcUK) are happy to provide the resources of these forums to responsible individuals without charge. They cost a substantial amount of money to maintain and use considerable amounts of bandwith which is paid for exclusively by us. As you know OcUK are in the computer hardware business and therefore the promotion of OcUK's competitors is forbidden. Examples of promotion are :-
Posting links to competitors websites
Posting links to reviews that promote competitors
Quoting the names or contact details of competitors
Offering to provide the names or contact details of competitors
Hinting about product availability at competitors and their pricing
Using the forums to notify a member of intent or actual supply of names or contact details of competitors
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in signatures
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in profile
Posting links to or the mentioning of auction sites
Disguising attempts to do any of the above

I have counted at least 10 people who are due suspensions due to breaking these rules.

Stop going on about competitors and ther pricing it's annoyinh having to delete all the posts.:)
And I'm now going to start giving out free suspensions, rubs hands...

Not really performance is 10fps less on average

Performance will plummit when you try to up the AA from anything higher than 4xAA

I like AA hence why Im happy with my GTX. Also I have the cash to afford it so no Im still laughing.

To go with the ramblings section of this thread, does anyone have any speculation about what this means for the new high end cards (i.e. GTX/Ultra replacements)? Since the GT makes the GTX effectively redundant unless you're running super high resolutions, who is going to pay nearly twice the price for a GTX? Presumably nVidia can't let the current situation go on for too long, with their previous high-end now completely devalued by a mid range solution? As it stands, you'd be daft not to get two 8800GTs if you had £300 or so put aside for a GPU upgrade.

have to take off the old GTS from auction then...

wanted to buy 2 but for the love of god couldnt find this other place you people got yours from :(
