970's having performance issues using 4GB Vram - Nvidia investigating

Sales stats as I can now see for today, more 970's sold today than last Wednesday.

Its not hurting sales that much if at all, because the 970's performance is still stellar. :)

But in fairness 980/290 series sales have absolutely exploded today, if anything all this has done is cause a massive ramp in VGA sales, quite bizarre but maybe people have being on the fence a while or a lot of customers were planning purchases for end of month with it being payday week. All GPU sales are up this week compared to last and that includes the now supposedly useless worth less than £100 970.

Some people on this forum spout some absolute rubbish and I are only saying it to try and wind others up and get reactions.

At least I hold the facts. :)

While sales are up , my GTX 970s stutter more today due to Dying Light :D

Get some sleep man seriously hehe

Ill stand by in the next month for the expected slew of '£100' 'useless' 970's being sold on the MM. .... I wont keep my fingers crossed too long ;):D

Gibbo you know for a fact this will hurt the resale value of the 970. While selling a few more 970's by your own admission sales of the 980/290 has increase which is probably down to this news and people changing their 970 orders to 980.

whos the fangirl someone mentioned yesterday ? :D

It Was Fangirls actually.

I was thinking the other day, well maybe a week ago that the graphics card market is pretty boring atm, no new cards for 5-6 months and no real evidence of a super fast card other than rumours.

Then this happens. The wrong kind of thing i was hoping for tbh.

Potentially, but the fact remains, our no.1 selling GPU is 970 and it is by miles!

Re-sale value, who knows, for all you know next week exchange rates could weaken like crazy and all 970s would become over £300 and similar increases on all other GPU's, meaning re-sale values on all cards would go up.

You cannot 100% say anything, no one can!

btw I'm not after a refund or anything for free and to be honest I don't expect Nvidia to fix this in a financial sense by way of voucher or refund, they will bodge it up with a driver - apologies and tell people to do one.

Sales stats as I can now see for today, more 970's sold today than last Wednesday with 2 hours still left. I can tell you for a fact if at here OcUK the enthusiast etailor is seeing no drop off, then your run of the mill resellers who are not specialist most certainly won't have any decline in sales. I got information from our European HQ and sales are up on last week. So any drop of is minimal and if any company was gonna notice a drop, it would hit OcUK harder due to our specialist nature.

Well it has hurt sales of the 970 as you say being on the fence a while and the sales of the other cards went up so its clear they were thinking 290 or 970, 970 or 980.
