970's having performance issues using 4GB Vram - Nvidia investigating

That is a nice card. The temps are only about 4degC warmer than the 970 and actually 10C cooler than the 980 according to the following review.

The power consumption is 80W more than the maxwell chips but not crazy high like many think. Works out about £20 more per year.

Man some of these guys must be so blinded by some twisted sense of fanboy loyalty that just can't see why Nvidia are at fault here.

Literally amazing, must be nice though to be able to remain in blissful ignorance. That's a trait they share with Nvidia.

If people lie I know to steer clear.. When corporations / business put out false advertising I know to avoid..

3.5GB + 0.5GB.
Less ROPS.
Less Cache.

It literally doesn't get any plainer..

Each to their own though.

Not only a few weeks (months?) ago you were praising Nvidia and criticising AMD.

I don't think anyone can take you seriously when you claim to have no brand loyalty but clearly do (to whatever is in your machine at the time of typing)

We have had false advertising on nearly everything since the year dot.

"8 out of 10 owners said their cats preferred NVidia"

Seriously, we all know nvidia screwed up. We all know that and we all agree on it, so let's move on. What people want to do next up to them and If people want to keep their cards then who are you to judge?

anyway, if you could tell me how having less rops than originally reported affects the performance of my card then you might hope to begin to have a point....

I was thinking about buying that card, unfortunately I know i won't like the noise level approx 6DB difference between the sapphire 290x and the Asus Strix 980 :(

I guess in a louder environment it probably wouldn't matter so much.

Did you deliberately miss the parts of my post where I said I won't support Nvidia and I also said each to their own. I'm not judging the consumer it's Nvidia I'm disappointed with, ultimately I will just vote with my wallet. What others do is up to them.

Yeah, shame but Nvidia are dead to me lol. Anyway I'm out of the thread. I hope those that do feel duped and didn't buy at OCUK get their refunds honored by the other retailers.
