Hi all,

I just sent back my 2x 970s for a refund. It cost me £30 to have it signed for and insured. Do I go about claiming that back off OCUK now or after the RMA is complete?

Thanks.

PS: Great work by OCUK dealing with this situation.

Post a screen shot of the receipt in the customer service section here, along with your RMA number.

I was told that OcUK will only refund to the maximum of £12, don't know if that's changed, but this was last year.

do you care or like anything !

I struggle to find things i actually care about enough to get angry over if they change, probably the closest thing is my local burger wagon. When he's not there on a Sunday a little bit of me dies.

Computer hardware, nope. Don't give a flying, there's two camps for GPU and they both lie, i don't put either on a pedestal as such i wont be disappointed when something like this comes out where they've duped the public, to me this is a non issue. For others this is the end of the world.

I'm easy ;)

yea i know what you mean........all these guys that have shot off to AMD will be back to Nvidia straight away at Xmas.......they're like Vultures descending on a rotting corpse, it's a Wilderbeast one day and a Zebra the next ;)

oh for God's sake stop it.

Nothing wrong with making sure consumers don't get walked over by manufacturers, especially when it comes to computer products. You'd think NVIDIA would know that some of their customers would find out if their products were not as described.

It may well be a genuine mistake, but NVIDIA should be made to rectify the situation.

yes charging OCUK the postage is a disgrace, because they're lucky they're getting a refund !

For starters, I didn't mean to come off as having an attitude or being 'disgraceful'.

As a consumer, you have to look out for #1. OCUK have been great handling this situation, but does that mean I should be £30 out of pocket still? I don't think so. OCUK provide a service and a standard practice when returning an item for a refund is to get the postage refunded also.

It's a crappy situation for OCUK, but I didn't put them in this position, Nvidia did.

I hope that ultimately OCUK come to some sort of agreement with Nvidia which doesn't hurt them too much.

But OCUK have to look after their bottom line, not me. I have to look after mine.

Hopefully you understand that. I definitely don't want to cause any offense to OCUK or their fellow customers. I have after all spent thousands here over the years :)

Cheers.

no its not standard practise at all to offer to pay return postage - in fact if you read the T&C`s they will say they wont , so anything back is a goodwill gesture.

Well I can say that with every other return I've ever done online I've had postage refunded in full as standard practice. I've never had to do it with OCUK before so that's surprising to me.

But this is a discussion I'll have with them privately once I get a response :)

No but it was falsely advertised, which although isn't the fault of OCUK, is a legitimate reason for getting a refund (compared to a changed mind etc).

Anyway I really don't want to drag this in to this thread, I just wanted to know where to contact OCUK about it. Thanks again for that info, I'll be bowing out of this thread now gents.

Cheers.
