970's having performance issues using 4GB Vram - Nvidia investigating

Misadvertisement is worse than defective... Of course it deserves a postage refund... Not fit for purpose ;)

If it had been sold as a 3.5GB card, it would still have sold 10s of 1000s and no one would have cared as it wouldn't stutter ;)

A customer should not be out of pocket for a falsely advertised item.
 
I recently emailed a large online retailer about a product that I bought from them which doesn't match the specifications they claim.

About an hour later, I had this reply.......

This is from Customer Service team. I have received your e-mail stating that the information that has been updated for " " has proven to be incorrect and Manufacturer is still working on the issue.

First of all, please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you thus far. Where we are thankful to you for binging the fact in light for us . Where I have forwarded the safe information to our product team and they will look into this matter and try to update the information.

And as the product features are not as specified on our website, so if you want we can arrange collection and get you a full refund for your order.

Rest be assured we will look int this matter and try to rectify it. Once again accept our sincere apologies for the wrong information.

Should you need any further assistance, never hesitate to give us a call.

I had a Toshiba TV with "backlight whine" from the same place. Told them about it, they collected and refunded.

I ordered a replacement, it also whined. I told them, they collected and refunded.

No fuss, no questions asked.

I think OCUK refunded my return postage on the one occasion when I returned an item that didn't perform as described.

Another online retailer failed to refund return postage (for a faulty DVD-RW drive), even though I sent them a copy of the postage receipt, as requested. I think I sent a follow up email that was ignored, so that's a supplier I shall avoid.

Not a chance

Load up Crysis 3 and max it out then see what happens.

Some games need the GPU grunt.

Minimums in Civ5 @2160p are always terrible when you are using AMD, NVidia or any number of cards, fortunately the minimums in that sort of game don't really matter.:)
 
I keep checking the clearance B grade section, there must surely be a run of these set to appear!.

I wonder what the sales have been since this issue was confirmed? I wonder what the timeframe will be for a new 975 or whatever it will be called?
 
So is it worth getting a 970? I currently have 2 x 680's that perform pretty good despite the lack of Vram.

I wouldn't mind going back to a single card as i have less performance issues and stuttering.

I don't own a GTX 970

I have never seen a GTX 970

I have no vested interest in the GTX 970

The reason I am asking this is because 3/4 of the people on that petition probably also fall into the same category as me.:)

It looks like it also a very slow moving petition as it has only gained about 400 more people in the last 24 hours.:D
