Agreed. The 8GB framebuffer will have a price premium for sometime. A lot of enthusiasts can forget how many people are still running 1080p screens :) They will probably release the card with 4GB, and then let board partners do 8GB aftermarket ones later on.

I think they might just let IHV`s the lead with this one - after the slating they got with the reference cooler

If AMD were smart, they would release 4GB and 8GB varients, not everyone wants to the pay the extra an 8GB card is as for many 4GB is ample for 1440P and below.

When these appear there is a very good chance I will go for the 4gb ones if there is a choice as they will bench better than the 8gb ones.

If I only used a single PC it would be a different matter as for gaming 8gb is much better.

I think at the moment NVidia are making a terrible marketing mistake.

If they were to launch the Maxwell Titan now, they would have an unbeatable card for which they could charge a lot and sell loads.

If they wait until summer the card will likely be up against AMDs next gen card with very little in performance to split them.

They're saving it as their trump card. No need playing it at the moment.

Well hopefully 3D Mark will release a new 4k/8k benchmark that needs 8GB cards to get better scores.

So then you will have to buy 4x 4GB and 4x 8GB!!!

Muhahahahahahaahahahaahhahahahahahah! :D :D :D

I'm unsure how you came away from reading that so certain the 970 SLI route is brilliant. I didn't think FPS was the issue anyway, rather people complaining of stuttering?

Because I shouldn't have the issue cause I don't plan to use 6K DSR in the game I play most, nor 2xSuperSampling in a game I won't play.

If you are that type of gamer, looking to stretch the boundaries what settings are playable, then it is worth a warning about the differences between the GTX 970 and the GTX 980.

I do love to pump the settings but I am not that type of gamer. I have always been happy to drop settings to get the performance I want and have usually found that I need to in contemporary games, no matter how much I spend.

I have seen on here a few people saying that s.c.a.n have issued them a RMA to return their Gigabyte 970 cards, can i ask, how long have you had these cards? I have just spoken to a very intelligent, pleasant chap, refund manager at said company and whilst he was very pleasant and helpful, he said, at this time, he cannot issue with me a RMA for my gigabyte card as gigabyte havent given them the go ahead. My request has been open for over a week now. I quoted the sales of good act etc but still cannot issue me with a RMA. so, those of you who purchased from here, specifically with a gigabyte gtx970, how long had you had your card before you requested a RMA? was you within the 14 days cooling off period? He informed me as returns manager, he was not aware of 1 refund been issued for a gtx970 gigabyte card and the users on this forum were not telling the truth!
Thank you.

Thank you.

Overclockers are taking the hit for returned Gigabyte cards at the moment.
