970's having performance issues using 4GB Vram - Nvidia investigating

Trying to come up with the extra funds I would need to get an 980, cheapest 980 on OCU is the reference design at... oh never mind, price went up... Cheapest elsewhere is £400. I would like to support OCU and get it here but the next cheapest GPU on OCU being £65 more than elsewhere (including delivery) makes that hard...

Can I firstly just say what fantastic customer service you are providing with regards to the GTX970 refunds.

I would really appreciate some help please as I purchased two MSI 4G GTX970's. One from C?L (popular Etailer in Bradford) and one from ocUK.

I read in an earlier post that MSI have given you the backing to refund GTX970customers. However, when approaching C?L Returns for a possible refund of one of the GTX970's they came back with this message below.

"Thank you for your message, I am very sorry to hear you wish to return your item, Nvidia have advised us to refer any customers that wish to return their item for a refund to the manufacturer of the card, which in your case is MSI. Please find the details for MSI below; http://uk.msi.com/about/contact-us"

I am puzzled as to how MSI can possibly refund me when my purchase was with the etailer?

Thank you :)

Hello there

Glad you are happy with the service we have been offering.

If people could drop us a review with your thoughts that would be great :)

Not sure why they said to contact the manufacturer directly but it goes on each peoples policy and how they want to approach this.

You probably have done already however have you checked that all of the power cables are plugged all the way into the GPU?

Yeah, I done that. It seems like the card wasn't actually fully in the PCI-E slot and I had to force it in a bit. It's was pretty odd never had that issue before., Installing drivers now and hopefully won't have any other issues. Thanks.

MSI cannot refund you and they will not refund you. You need to get the refund from your retailer, they need to support you and do as you say. Just push them harder, I can only apologise that they are making it so difficult for you. :(

For the card from us, request an RMA and you shall be given one hassle free. :)

If you make a post in CS requesting a price request to the card in stock at a competitor we can see what we can do for you. :)

OcUK weekly deals update every Wednesday, hence why cards which were on deal are no longer.

Really, really, want to get a new gpu now from OcUK to show my support, and because I want something new.

Having a hard time deciding on one after gigabyte have stuck two fingers up to OcUK and its customers in general - as I was looking at the g1/windforce but I'm now not sure.:(

That's what I thought. After being told since Monday it was being shipped it still hasn't. Also told I was getting a P/N: 2980-KR which is a 980 reference when in fact it was a 2981-KR which is a ACX which is not the one I was told about.

HOWEVER, whilst I was in the middle of this Dominik called me back and was very helpful. Has promised me a 980 Superclocked reference 2982-KR, which I have just sent a payment for and will be shipped out tomorrow on a quicker delivery.

Hopefully all ends well.

Any further issues let us know, we shall handle it for you and introduce the EVGA boys to 8 Pack if they cause you any more issues. :)

I think it’s a legal requirement that any refund is given in and on the same manner it was paid on.

You may be able to get around the issue but it would be a process of providing documents, ID, proof of various things. But its not a choice retailers really have, just a requirement they have to meet.

You can change your card details on your account fine, but this has no impact on purchases already made.

* please be advised that everything above may or may not be a load of tosh, but I think its correct.

How can it refund to a card that you have deleted and changed?

Or doesn't OCUK allow you to remove and change cards?

I recently changed mine because my old card had expired...

I guess the details are stored some where, I just spoke to CS and they helped me out but it sounds a little ropey, With the last comment being "hopefully it goes onto the correct card" its relying on some one reading the notes

I hope this does not go wrong lol
