Yes according to Loki on here, he has no stuttering with his 970 SLI's on G-Sync. Maybe he can reply with more information. :)

me neither :)

Turn it on smooth, turn it off slight stutter. This was Shadow of Morder with Ultra textures. Not had chance to test further as still waiting for my XB280HK to come back from beeping Acer!!!!

fps arnt the only game on the market to be played at 4k -

/snip

and an MMO

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Gigabyte/GeForce_GTX_980_G1_Gaming/24.html

Those numbers are not indicative of real gameplay, I can tell you first hand that WoW is not playable at 4K on a GTX970 unless you turn many things down so it will not be on a 290X, and I am doubtful it would be with a GTX980 either (for reference WoW uses <3GB VRAM at 4K so that is not having an effect on the 970).

Also note that those charts are form an older version of the game running a different engine, these ones are more recent:

However real world FPS will be MUCH lower than shown there, especially when MSAA is added back to the game next patch.

then you have an issue with your gtx 970 - as wow is playable perfectly well on a 4gb gtx 670 sc @4k - as my son has....

Just a quick WOW! Without getting into a whole discussion about the right or wrong of the decision I opted to take up the offer from OCUK and RMA my pair of Gigabyte GTX970 G1 cards. They arrived with them today at 9.46am according to Royal Mail. I just got an email from PayPal to say I got a partial refund on them both (basically full refund less original postage costs paid). So its been processed inside one day. That is absoultelty amazing customer service. This whole thing and OCUK's first class attitude towards it and to the customer has been outstanding and I am deeply impressed. I will confess that out of habit and on a price basis I have been a regular purchaser from S**N but in future OCUK will now be my first port of call when I am looking for components. I am not a major purchaser but for the sake of good customer service on a couple of graphics cards I will probably now re-direct a fair chunk of the thousands I do spend every year on components and computer peripherals. Sounds like good business to me.

Hahahahahahaha,

I think you need to check what settings your son is using XD

Because he is certainly not playing WoW at 4K on a GTX670 (unless settings are turned down or he spends all day standing in the auction house :P).

All of the graphs showing the small fps difference when using the .5 slow Vram are missing the point entirely aren't they? It's the fametimes and stuttering that are a problem, not the FPS.

Show me a frame time graph and then I'll believe the people saying this is a non-issue.

2 pics to show fps.....

Thank you OCUK,i rma'd 2x msi gtx 970's,and the experience has been nothing short of outstanding, and painless.
I did order a Sapphire Radeon R9 290X Vapor-X OC 8192MB,prior to the rma,and I must say it suits my needs very well for now( will see what the newer cards bring to the table).
Off to the trustpilot site to leave feedback, thanks once again OCUK.
