More than one GB of RAM will help load times. I have heard from someone with a review copy that a 9800 will work on high, so as worse your looking at medium-high without any upgrades. :)
 
Well how's this for taking the buscuit..

Can't play BF2 on gf3ti200.. The components for the new machine (inc X800XL) arrive monday - the X2 then should arrive late June (along with BF2).

Grrr hehe. Looks like I'll be all alone on the BF-DC servers!
 
That picture doesnt look very good, I agree. In fact I saw some up on CVG website which looked appalling.
I think you'll find that it will all depend on your grx hardware, and the settings used in the game. For example I play Battlefield Vietnam maxed out @ 1680x1050, and it looks fantastic the landscapes are very detailed. I presume the same will apply to BF2, I have no doubt I will be able to max it up and get some good eye candy, and a smooth game play.
Time will tell, I just hope they bloody get on and release the demo.
 
i cant wait for it to come out, so much so that ive upgraded to this:-
DFI Lanparty ultra-d
amd64 san diego 3700 it was on offer :p
x800xl connect3d i should notice a difference compared to my 9800xt
And im expecting this to play the game in ultra quality, unless my old memory will let me down, which is a 1gb geil value memory.

LOL, a mate of mine has bought near identical kit for his new 'BF2' rig

Hes rushing to get it all sorted by tonite for the demo release :rolleyes:

there are so many rumours and edited chat logs and q&a sessions im finding it tough to keep track

on my list of times to watch are 8.00am 3.00pm and 8.00pm as it has been rumoured to be released at either 12 noon, 12 midnight or 7.00am Pacific time....

i assume we will get it on saturday though tbh
