A battlefield2 thread

Can anyone tell me if it is possible for someone with special forces to play on another persons account so that they can get the sniper unlock?

Yes you can. I have unlocked a few members accounts but it is a matter of trust ;)

Could you do mine? You seem like a nice bloke and i could even send you a few quid via paypal for your trouble. :)

Add me to MSN & catch me around mid day. Discretion is the better part of valour ;)

BTW.
I don't do things for money but if you have a fit sister then gimme her mobile number :D

You could have had her mobile number regardless, be glad to get her married off lol. Will add you to msn, many thanks.

Is that a hotmail.com or .co.uk?

With your setup you should be doing 90+ fps with max everything, 16xAA and AF etc.
Something is definitely up.

I presume you've patched it. Have you gone here to get Pbsetup and update punkbuster?
Is your HD not too full and defragged?
Hmmmmm, there's probably something else the reason though but I can't think

Edit: I see you're on Vista. Doing the following solves connection problems but probably not performance
Right-click the BF2 icon, choose Properties, and then in the Compatibility tab check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator."

Thanks for the quick reply :)

I thought a game from 2005 should run well, especially at only 1280x1024.

I've updated PB now, defragging HDD (have only had new PC 4 weeks so have been installing loads of apps/games), and will give it a try. Connecting to server seems OK though.

I presume there's no issues with Xfire, given that I've seen others rack up thousands of hours gaming with Xfire/BF2... :)

i decided to reinstal this the other month, however when i try to play it it crashes my pc and makes it reboot.

not changed a thing since i played it last!

Does it BSOD your system? If so post a log from c:\Windows\Minidump which happened at the same time and I'll check it out for you (it's probably driver related)

COD4 came out & after over 2 years of flat out BF2 i was drawn away.
Then i got my 360 & kept myself away from gaming on my PC so that i could get used to the 360 controller quicker. I've played COD4 on the 360 for a few weeks & what i think compared to PC is for another thread.
Anyway i went on BF2 the other day to do a guy a favour & realised that BF2 is the game for me. Always has & always will be by the looks of it.
I dropped straight into a few 64 man Infantry battles & was instantly at home again.
I've said it once & I'll say it again 64 man Infantry only BF2 servers are my online gaming Heaven. Having tried another type of gaming recently i can safely say that BF2 is still Number 1 for me

Agreed, I did much the same, bought a 360 and COD4 thought it was all great and wonderful until I sat back down at my PC and realised just how much deeper BF2 is, larger maps, much better controls, squad play.

Be interesting to see if Frontlines is up to the job of replacing BF2.

Having experienced it for myself i cannot understand anyone that would prefer to play anything else at the mo. COD4 is good for a Thrash about in your face bit of brutality but after an hour the buzz wears off. When i am on a 64 man IO BF2 server i am on for hours. I never play with mates i just join set a squad up & the fun begins. Plenty of teamwork, plenty of laughs & plenty of action. Everything just seems perfect for me, the variety, the map size, the weapons, the equipment/squads well like i said Everything.

Hey,

I'm installing BF2 now, I bought it back in 2005 when it came out but I gave online gaming a break last year but I feel like getting back into BF2. I used to be able to play BF2 on the highest settings at 1280x1024. But I have a new 22" widescreen monitor which is 1650x1050 any ideas what FPS I would get if I played at high settings? I'm on vista 64-bit by the way :).

Spec is in sig :).

Also do more people play the add on packs for BF2 like Project Reality or just normal BF2?

Thanks.
