A battlefield2 thread

Gah! well i installed this again the other night, not played for over a year and have forgot my account details, did the retreve account option and changed password via the gamepsy link. Still cant log into my account though :(

Is the username required or is it the email address that the account was created with. I can't remember the username but i'm sure I remember the password ... unless I kept the same username for 2142, but for the life of me can't recall to over two and half year ago ...

The original account had a lot of unlocks but if i've to start with a new account then I might not bother.

yea you can log onto any account through any ones installed bf2 etc...

all you need to retrieve your account is either user name or email you singed p with + your password

must say i didn't play for a good year or so but getting back into it is grate fun exspecialy when you have a mate round thought can get abit noisy :D

I was going to download the 'deluxe edition' from the ea store, but they only have the 'complete edition' costing £25 :eek:

Extortionate considering you can get the 'deluxe edition' with the SF pack for a tenner elsewhere. :D
 
yea i dont get why everything is more expensive to download and play rather then buying from shops (well except for the steam deals that are poping up now...)
 
Dont want to make anyone jealous but I am playing the Battlefield Heros Beta right now. It is like BF1942 but with weapon and ability upgrades and some abilities are quite useful. The commando class has an invisibility cloak which makes me feel at home after having a pre CU full temp SWG jedi with cloak in the CU. It works well with the run speed increase/shield and either the reveal target (strips cloak away) or troop trap. I've ownd quite a few games with that. However planes still own me, I should really learn to fly.

Hope I didn't break NDA there cause it was just another EULA to me that no one reads.

Just met a serious hacker. Apparently the same bug is in 2142 but I won't post the exploit here.

Well i had lost my manual with my key ages ago and after seeing this thread i though i'd fork out for another one. Decided to try the EA download complete collection version as i managed to find a coupon for £5 off. payment via paypal went well but so far that's the only part of the process that hasn't given me a headache. The download manager refused to believe that flash was installed......that took the best part of an hour to sort out. Installed the game.....punkbuster wouldnt work so after another hour of searching through forums i managed to get that sorted. Next anti aliasing wouldnt work.....still a no go on this. Finally i tried to play some of the special forces/euro force/ armoured fury maps........yup, i cant because it's telling me that i dont own them. Great. further investigation tells me i have to find a mythical website to register or activate my expansions. eventually found said site but of course when i try to login the page crashes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so 5 hours in and i still dont have a working game and as there was no instructions for what to do from EA after the payment screens were passed i've wasted what seems like a lifetime searching for solutions.

I'm proper angry......im a candidate for one of those folk you see on youtube smashing up their keyboard!

anyway sorry rant over i just wanted to vent a bit:mad:

Jeez, I don't know how EA continues to get away with treating customers like idiots.

I've experienced their servers not working, lagging, customer support lying, http web failing, bugged out games etc.

They literally won't see another cent from me. Hopefully one day they will lose their monopoly and let the decent game studios come back to the forefront.
 
On the PR side of things can anyone please recommend a clan to join up with for a total newb to the game?

Had a couple of games of this over the weekend and totally loved it.
 
Still play daily, my ISP is crap and my ping keeps staying at 400+ ALL DAY on every server i use.

Want to get my own server eventually and run wake IO 24/7, used to love playing that and its never populated anymore.

Your ISP wouldn't happen to be BT would they?

I've played IO wake before and its good fun, don't know why more servers don't run it.
 
Does anyone else have, or has come across, a problem where you are walking (usually side stepping I noticed) and you suddenly lose control of your character. You will let go of everything and he will keep on moving in the last direction you were going for about 1 second, and then you get control back?

I've had this on rare occasions but I always assumed it was my wireless keyboard crapping out.
 
Not had that problem, my isp is PHORM TALKTALK :(

Mainly have problems with punkbuster especially in aix. Have updated it and reinstalled it, same issues.
 
Still playing, but have decided to re-install the booster packs, Armoured Fury nutsed up on me and I cant get it to re-download from the EADM?? I cant even find the cache files to delete.. aargh


Any ideas
 
Well I installed this but have no-one to play with i.e. squad wise. Playing with 60 other people sounds fun, but I remember that playing a with a good squad was awesome.

I never remember the radio spam being so bad though, it is rather annoying.

I knows its probably been asked recently, but what servers will I find you guys on? Any recommendations?

My player id is slambo.

Yeah i've had that with my dinovo edge keyboard and now my G15 rev 1 +2 so i'm sure it's game related and not the keyboards.
