A battlefield2 thread

Ah I see. Yeah I have been having a few connection problems of late as well, on O2 broadband. Only just got my PC set up after about 6 months (GF moved out) and so this is the first week I have gamed on O2 broadband (outside of the 360 and PS3).

I am loving Project Reality at the moment, but I keep getting disconnected after about 30 minutes play.

I love how the battles go on for ages, and the fact that EVERYONE works together. It is awesome. Proper pilots taking you into battle, moving around from street to street as a squad. Coordinating attacks with other squads, I love it!!

That must be really frustrating disconnecting when games last an hour or more. I'm sure you will be able to find your solution at the link above. If not by search then by posting a question.

I'm playing battlefield heros beta. They opened up the full 30 levels now meaning that you can upgrade more special powers at once.
 
Right so I've started to play BF2 again, well more like trying. Currently running Windows Vista X64 with enough juice to make it run properly. However, everytime I try to connect to a MP game Punkbuster kicks me out saying it can't communicate with PB....A.exe or B.exe... I've tried running the game in administrator mode and it either doesn't load or does the same thing. Its fully patched and I've even tried the manual update to PunkBuster. Its starting to really annoy me as I can't seem to make it work. This is the only game I have that uses PunkBuster, so any help would be great!

Did you try using PBsetup?

Ive had similar in the past, manualy updated but still would get kicked. Used this last time and it helped.
 
You turned off the thing in vista that asks you 10 times each time you want to do something right? Also pbsetup will sort out pb for you. A manual update is a lot better than trying to get it to do it in game :) link for pbsetup is above my post.

punkbuster services started okay, firewall set up to allow the jobs ?

It's to do with the connection Lag.
I used to get this with my old server, changed to talk talk (called My talk talk now) and now all sorted :)
 
After a year away I've just tried BF2 again, sadly my joy is shortlived. I get into an online game, kill a few enemies and then get kicked by Punkbuster because of some ****ty error that means nothing to me. As far as I know BF2 is fully updated, I paid for the game and it's expansions so why can't I play it online?
 
Azagoth. I had that about 3 weeks ago as well. Same boat as you. Not played it in about a year then join a game and get kicked.

Everything is updated.......?

Anyone help us lads out as to why

and if someone says "update punkbuster"

can you also say How ?>???
