Yeh it increases the resolution but doesn't change the FOV, but there's another program that can fix the FOV for you if you really want. Here's the tool which has surely been posted before.

I have just reinstalled windows (vista 64) and now BF2 CTD when every I try to join a server.

Please help.

No.

The reason people say it's not proper widescreen is because it crops the image rather than increasing the field of view.

hmm, looks like punkbuster has not been added to the firewall or services.

I get "your connection to server has been lost" then if I try again it CTD.

Ok now this is strange.

I have now redownloaded it via EADM installed it from there and it runs fine. So why does it not work if I install it from my back up of the download.

just brought the full game with all 3 addons for £6, installed on vista and have two issues.

one i get kicked with this msg.

then i need a screen res for 1680 x 1050

Add that to the target line in the exe properties. It only stretches it but looks better than the crappy 4:3ish res.

Quit & retry, it will work eventually. I get all that with a fresh install Of COD4 for the first few tries.

You sure its upto date? did you use the tool or manually do it? I had that before I re-updated.
