A battlefield2 thread

Useful command line tips:

Code: 
D:\Users\XXX\Games\BF2\BF2.exe +menu 1 +restart +playerName XXX +playerPassword XXX +szx1920 +szy1200

The +restart cmd skips the intro vid for speed and uses less RAM for those with lesser hardware.

The +playerName / +playerPassword commands are case sensitive and when you insert your details in the xxx you load straight into the BF2 options screen!

Saves time when eager to go to e-war! :D
 
Hey guys would it be worth me gettin this now, Im a real valve fan and completely missed this whole series, due to TFC, CS et al. I heard the multi - player is awesome, but is it too late to get into this game? Is the community still healthy? If so ill pick it up for cheap
 
hmm this game does not involve Valve, but it is very good, I'm not sure about the community its been a while since I last played.

Ahh sorry i wasnt very clear. I mean i was side-tracked during that period with valve games. I loved the hl1 / 2 engine so much i didnt really play any other fps games. So, i missed this franchise completely.

you can buy all 4 for £6 from a supermarket
 
Are much people still playing this online? I bought sometimes ago the full expansion back but I never got around installing it.

Can anyone tell me why I haven't got 2nd Lt, yet?

I've been playing this game since release, and I still don't understand the ranking system. As far as I can tell, I have everything needed.

I assume it's a badge, or something, but Google just leads me round in circles.

Yes, I am rubbish; It's about the taking part :P

Looked at your stats for about 10 mins and still dont know.

Nope. I have a friend (here) who is missing a few of the same badges, as you can see, he is ranked :/

Edit: It seems n1kunj had it right. Just dinged. It has been a while (I took a break) but I don't remember it taking that long to catch up. Anyhoo, I are an officer \o/

cant find my cd but have the game installed and the cd key saved somewhere on the pc, is there any way i can play it?
