A battlefield2 thread

Hi, what is the lastest MOD now ! ?
A chap at work had mentined to me there was a very recent MOD out !
Does this includ any new maps or weapons ! ?

Im also getting the problems of being kicked after 20 secs or so. I have updated pb, or so I think I have?

Also for some reason the floor texture is missing and I can see through the bottom of the map. Have tried reinstalling and no good.

This is on the 1.5 beta.
 
Whats the reason why it takes SO DAMN long to rank up in BF2???

Ive had the game for years, been playing on Ranked servers, and it takes so long, i have not got a rank up in about 2 years and i play afew hours per week.

wtf is going on
 
:D Good to see people still play this! Just picked up BF2 plus the expansion packs for a wallet busting £5 :p My original account seems to have been nuked (To be fair I haven't played it in yeeeeears so I'll enjoy working my level back up from scratch :cool:

BECAUSE IT SUCKS TO RANK UP EASY Man, it is a game for hardcore people :D

1000 hours to make it top :) love it

I just love the fact that it don't take 20 hours to be top rank like COD4 :D
 
dom is right, This ain't no game for light weight point chasers this is Hardcore Stat whoring at it's best.
BF2 Demands that you progress through your stats according to the Ranks & Promotions, If you are Not ranking up then you need a certain Badge/Award before you will get the next rank. You cannot get Promoted when you don't know how to operate weapons & vehicles properly. Play the game properly & work your way through All the classes/vehicles & weapons & Promotion will come in time.
By the time you earn the rank you will deserve it. :cool:
 
After 1306:50:30 hr's playing, I'm about 700 points away from my stars, I think I've been a Colonel now for over a year, as I only play a couple of hours a week.

I've not actually played any other games with ranks, but I guess having these massively hard achievements has kept people playing since 2005 huh. I bet COD4 or whatever wont be around in 5 years.
 
Whilst Im here, does BF2/Punkbuster and Daemon Tools now work on Win7? As I tried it when Build 7000 came out and nothing worked.

Punkbuster isn't supported under Windows 7 "yet". So while the game might work fine after a minute or two PB will kick you from the server.
 
I bought a new graphics card last year and couldn't play BF2 without turning off shadows which sucked so I haven't touched it since. A while back I had to re-install XP and thought I'd try BF2 again and this time it's working correctly.
However even though it's a fresh install I still get kicked after a few minutes, I've downloaded Punkbuster but haven't had chance to try it online.

I re installed BF2 last night & it works Perfectly, This is the order to do it, Do Not deviate & post back here moaning it won't work as I did this myself last night.

Instal BF2.
Instal Spec Forces.
Instal 1.41 cummulative patch.
Instal pb.exe
Run pb.exe & select BF2 & Watch it update.
Play the best online FPS in the World bar none.



For Windows XP users.
