A battlefield2 thread

...that was never finished and is still played by a lot of people.

Imagine the uproar if StarCraft had some fatal bug that was never patched or sometimes did produce a unit you spent resources on?
 
By that notion CS and StarCraft should not be making Blizzard and Valve any money?

The BF2 compleat collection is still in the top 10 PC game sales of 2 large internet retailers and in the top 10 currently played games on xfire.

More to the point it casts DICE in a very bad light and that will certanly dent any future sales they could have. Just look at Spore.
 
EA get some kickback from ranked servers I think, they have some interest in it. I worry for that reason they wont let mods work on the next engine, frostbite



 
question if you CTD, before the server ends (you log back in and the maps finished, loading the next) do you still get your points.

Cheers Dude. I play on Any 64 man Infantry only server I am not Banned from already. :D
Best thing to do is use one of those BF2 tracker sites & just join me through that. When I do play I play for a good 3 hours & Welcome Anybody that joins my Squad.
Team play or I kick you though. :D
Teabagging is Compulsory & Don't have your Speakers on for ***** sake as I swear like a Trooper & am a Complete mentalist when I play. :p
Don't take me seriously though or you will miss out on the Lollage. ;)

:eek: Sorry Dude I cannot agree with that at all.
I have played BF2 since 1 second past 9am day of release & just about every single day till Yesterday, On Numerous systems of varying strength, I have Always managed to play & Love BF2 no matter what. The game cost me around 30 quid & I have played maybe 5000 hours of FREE BF2 since then. :p
I would call that Extreme value for money wouldn't you ?
the fact that they continued to work on patches up until the 1.41 which just about sorted it for everybody is testament to there long term commitment to there games.
1.5 being worked on & released with a new map 4 kin years later proves me right.
I Love BF2 & Love EA for giving it to me as now after 4 long years of whinging people are finally starting to agree with me that BF2 is the Best online FPS out there & ever released, Bar None. :cool:
 
OK i've just started playing this and its incredibly frustrating, run for miles not seeing anyone for ages, then out of nowhere get Killed by an enemy i usually cant even see, not exactly fun :(
 
Are you playing vehicle or infantry ?
lots of help here Dude, I'd spend all day helping somebody get used to BF2.
 
Initially when you join a game you can join a squad Before you spawn, Once you have spawned you can only select your squad leader for spawning whilst alive.
If you want to drop straight into the action just join a game then hit the map button, Look see what Squad is in the middle of it & join the squad & then click on the green icon for squad leader, When you spawn you will have your arse shot off. :p
Sort of thing you need ?

I'll make a note of the 3 servers I use most later tonight, I have no head memory. I'll post them here, I play under the name HarryHealer so you can use a BF2 tracker.
Can't think what servers still let me play on them off the top of my head, So much Bannage you see. :p

I was playing a few weeks back & having uber fun, Some Random lad who was in my squad shouted his Brother & said Watch this Dude, The next 5 mins or so was filled with the pair of them going What the **** then loads of Lollage :D
I was in full Teabagging mode & had my whole squad Teabagging screaming with laughter getting shot & being teabagged, All casual & all Hilarious. :cool:
With the right bunch of lads you can have a Great game & in the midst of it have a whole bunch of fun an all. The reason I get on so well on BF2 is I have always played publics & have always played squad with randoms, I am not a vet snob & I will Not play on One sided teams on Clan servers pawning publics for easy kills.
I have spent 4 years organising Publics to turn over Clan servers & that is why I am banned so much. I go out of my way to turn over one sided servers & Pawn admin. Esepcially admin that hog Air or Armour. :D
Those I have a very Special treat that comes in the way of a slow kill plenty of text abuse & some tea bagging to finish. :D
 
You sound so much like me - I'll hook up with you sometime. Look out for Chessmasterlol :D (I'm perma'd from quite a few servers but should be able to find at least one we can play on :o )
 
Had an Awesome few hours late last night when I peaked I had a round where I was over 40 kills for less than 5 deaths but that was due to my squad leader being a God amongst squad leaders. Dude just kept inviting me round after round then one round he camped down in the jittys at first flag at Karkhand. I just kept spawning on him completely going Mental either as Engineer with the pump shotty or as Sniper with Clays & knife, Best round I've had in ages I must say & not because of the score but because of my SL. For once I could just squaddy whilst somebody else did the job I usually have to do. End of the sesh I praised the Dudes SL skillz Thanked him muchly for my points acquired with him & wheel span off to bed with enough kills under my belt to sleep soundly. :D

Forgot about writing server down though :rolleyes: Like I said I have No head memory :o

Am HarryHealer though & can't be hard to find on the 64 man Infantry only servers.
 
Just dusted the copy a couple of weeks ago. Need 6ish hours to hit 200 total and 15 as support, and around 300 pts to hit 20000. So close and should have a few unlocks/badges/medals when I hit the numbers. Had a great 2-3h session tonight with bronze, silver and gold (had been a while since I last had a few) - all as support and fighting commander in jalalabad infantry only 64 man server...mostly with resupply points and x2 though.
