A battlefield2 thread

I've downloaded the 1.41 patch, and it runs and expands into %temp%, but I don't get any window, and the game doesn't get updated. What gives?
 
Well 4 years late after playing this at my friends house I've ordered my copy! Sounds like a bit of patching is required first.. After which if Malc, you would be so kind as to point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated :)
 
How funny is it reading those initial posts for this thread on page 1 from 2005! Makes you realise how quickly specs are moving. There was genuine shock about the possible need for 2gb of ram and one of those guys had just built a pc with a "74" gb h/d! lol I have files that big.
 
Allow BF2.exe to use more than 2Gb RAM on machines that support it

Nice! , think ill replay..

Have only got BF2 and special forces though :(
 
Hi Guys,

Is there any tips to getting this to run on Vista 64, it doesnt even start just flicks up and closes. I have read this was due to a 60hz issue with monitors and tried a 'howto' to resolve it but, it still doesnt work :(!

tried deleting your game folder settings? never had a problem in vista 64

Just change it to the rez you use in the Vid con file. Can't remember exact location as it is far to early for my brain to work, Shout me back if you don't find it though.

Summit like

My Docs/BF2/profiles/Default/vid con & look for line containing rez, Any more probs then change it to 800 rez with 60hz & then change in game once up & running.

Sorry it's early & I had a heavy night last night. :o
 
Malc is bang on with where that setting is ...

Problem I have is getting as far as login screen ... select account and it starts to load (little spinning red 2) then after a minute black screen and back to desktop. I have changed my res. setting and running it in Admin mode , the only thing is different is that Im running 1.41 from another h/drive as on my main drive I have beta 1.5 installed (which loads fine) .... can I do this or have I forgot about something ?
 
Can't play with the latest beta patch . As soon as a server loads up , within 3secs of being in game it goes back to the multiplayer server listing. No errors or anything :mad::confused:
