A battlefield2 thread

I had punkbuster problems which are all fixed, but sometimes i get knocked out the server suggesting that i should take a mod off my unmodded bf2?
 
DICE developers seem to say PB should be fixed for Windows 7.

I played BF2142 today and finally had fun as it wasn't kicking me all the time!
 
Ok so my bf2 used to work on windows 7, i.e. open and let me play sp etc, but as punkbuster wasnt supported I uninstalled it. Now I reinstalled it, but as you open it, the screen goes black for a few seconds and then just returns to the desktop. There is no error message?

How can i find the problem?

my hardware is all brand new and have latest drivers.
 
Ah! cheers man.

Well it didnt work when I set it to 1920x1200, so I installed the 1.5 patch and it works, but I cant find any servers now?

edit got servers but they are ALL empty?

Everybody is on 1.41 mate until the Official release of 1.5. Sorry but you have to re instal.

1.5 beta currently has a connection bug that does not let you join servers. So unsurprisingly everyone gave up. I'm not going to bother with beta 3 unless its confirmed they have 100% fixed the issue.
 
They're fixing some sort of network disconnection issues and have come to a halt for a few weeks now, it'll probably be out in a month.

BTW what the hell is going wrong with the game servers? I'm banned from several servers now because i started "capturing flags". What kind of a ridiculous reason can there be for not letting you play the game how it's meant to be played?
 
There are unfortunately still a lot of dodgy stat padding servers out there. A clan mate of ours got kicked from a server for 'taking off in a plane'.

He had ended up on a server where any type of game play at all got you kicked/banned as the only reason for the server was to go on there to sit in vehicles to get your time up towards the various badges/awards!

I used to love BF2 until I came across servers like that. Was always such a shame. Was fun sometimes though to arty those guys and just wait for the abuse to roll in before the kick :D
 
The only server that has a decent Euro Force map is one of those stupid servers, ugh! I want to play some of those maps, they're new to me.
