I have a rather fab local print company who scratches my back when I scratch theirs :D I think... the largest order I have completed so far was for Clintons which was... about 10,000 cards. I'm actually distributing the cards through an umbrella company for Clintons (I would do the same for the supermarkets) which saves me having to fold, wrap, cellobag and pack up orders (Thank God! I'm actually sat here at the moment doing that for a new release of designs and I can do about 100 cards in an hour... which is painstakingly slooow!)

Normally though my orders will range from about 1,000 - 2,500 at a time and sometimes I put in lower ones for 100 - 500 :)

It's all digitally done which is great for this quantity monies wise and the quality... well I'm a BIG fuss pot and perfectionist and I can see very little difference... it's excellent what they can do today :)

If I needed to, I could easily produce anywhere around 50,000 - 100,000 cards at a time :)

Invitations and custom designs vary considerably :) If you ask to stick to a standard simple square design it's a very reasonable price... if you want something a bit more complex (like the rectangular one) the prices comes up a bit there but that's mainly because it's a non standard print size so admin costs goes up and then I have to order in new envelopes :)

Equally I can do a design for a set price and you can get it printed... but normally I will be able to do a better price than most as I can bung it on top of other orders :)

I wouldn't say I was particularly artistic either... I mean... I draw stickmen ;D Not everyone's cup of tea buuuut I like them as they're a bit silly and fun... seems lots of others out there do too! Thank goodness for me ;D

How much will they be selling for btw?

I want one for my mum for mothers day, and one for my gf for her bday soon. I really really like them.

I NEVER buy cards, and my family know that, cos they are pointless and crap. Seriously, why bother, they all suck and you only buy them cos you have too.

BUT, i would pay for these. They are more of a funny gift than a card. They made me laugh anyway...

Something I've always wondered - with me being your average bloke I forget to buy cards for anniversaries, valentines day, birthdays, mothers day, fathers day etc. Now if I could buy a yearly box of cards that included all of the anniversaries, holidays, a few birthday cards, a few xmas cards.... bascially everything for an entire year in a box, it would save me loads of aggro!

Why hasn't anyone done that? Can you?
 
Very good skill at designing funny cartoons for cards! All you need to do is market yourself in a more annoying way than say...Moonpig and you will be laughing!!

This is actually a genius idea Jas, really genius. Initially outlay the work finding out the right birthdays/dates/cards who you want for and then just buy the cards for a whole year(s)! Get a reminder thing on top to prompt you when the next one needs to be sent, job done!

I'd probably go for something like this as I am abysmal with normal card occasions and dont' really believe in them much anyway :)

I could certainly do a pack for people :) To be honest though... there are such a variety of cards it would be hard catering for everyones taste in one pack (they'd all be fairly general and non exciting)! You'd probably be better off making a bulk buy from a store of a selection of cards you like/suitable for those you know for the whole year!

Reminders would be quite hard to set up as you would have to have people willing to give out details about their loved ones/ family (ie their birthday dates)... and with all this nicking peoples identity malarkey I'm guessing people wouldn't be so keen!

To be honest pheebs I think 90% of the market the packs would sell to (i.e people like me who would rather buy everything in one go and forget about it for a year, rather than remembering the same day and having to rush out and choose from a naff selection at a garage anyway) wouldn't mind too much! As long as the cards are themed for the holiday you're giving them for then I thought it would be a good way of selling 20 cards in one go rather than the odd one or two.
 
Tis a plan Batman! I will definitely look into it for the future! It's something that will go well with my packs of Christmas Cards et al :) There's certainly no harm in putting together a pack... if they sell they sell... if not then I split them up and sell them separately :)

I heart Exploding Dog :) I guess my cards are kind of similar in the respect they're stickmen (and can be a bit random) but I think they're quite different in humour/colour! Exploding Dog has now gone into a lot of arty looking designs... I much preferred it when they were super simple! Still love them though :D
