If you have a link to 6.3 please post it!

Thanks

guys we need to test this to find what does it the game is ok now just had another quick go seems ok

with all the bits in it will be difficult for me but one of you may be able to

it runs better after a reboot, without the mods in my fist post i could not get it to run

do we have a game duel core incompatable prob that is shown up with the rd580 chip set ?

the guys on other site may be running single core ?

i dont know my knowlage is not good enough th diag the problem ( altho i did many years ago design a z80 based pc from scratch it did work my god programing in machine code )

Ok Guys

I have tried the uninstall drivers shebang that was posted by our friend, basically I still have the problem.

Then I tried turning off AI in catalyst but the problem persists.

The hotfix (used by edmond) is already on my system.

I will now try to use the 6.3 drivers and see if they make a difference, will keep you posted dude's

Sorry forgot to answer your previous question, I did not try the fix you mentioned for the squealing, as it seems to operate by brute force rather than finesse. I can live with it for now, but I may venture into that area later, if the catalyst thing works..........

will keep you posted...........

I cannot promise that it will work but it does run better after a reboot

Have RMA'd both my mobo and CPU to the vendor after testing with a speaker today and still getting no beeps and no post - so didnt even get to build. Will await replacement in a few days, and hopefully this will have all resolved itself with the effort you guys are putting in - thanks again for all your efforts - makes life easier for the stragglers like me.

Hi, I'm single core, if that helps...
raja
I've used the drivers from the ULi site and have no problems with them, although I'm also running X64.

Personally I'm not going to try any mods until DH come up with something, perhaps they will soon, if not can someone who contacted them before give them a PM. I'm concerned that modding may make thing more obscure, however if new, official, ATI drivers come out I'll install them.

Which corsairs are you running, I might just upgrade my memory just to ensure there's no bottleneck there.

Cheers all, I'm calm :-)

An update from Driverheaven about testing Cat 6.3

I dont think thats going to make a difference, but i cant say for sure due to NDA's i've signed... just a theory

Thats because Asus have confirmed that the issues most people are experiencing are bios related (and we have verified that).

Just passing it on guys

fully understand your comments regarding the mods

ram Corsair 2GB DDR XMS4000PT TwinX (2x1GB) CAS3 (MY-094-CS)

looks like its a deffinate on the bios front now a gagging order has been issued  why do they do that , if its bad publicity they are getting it , release a beta bios better publicity

Sorry Edmond & Coolasmoo,

I have tried everything thrown at the thread today, I'm back at square 1.

Same issues, basically I overlooked the fact that Edmond has just recieved the board and was new to the issues we have already experienced, only difference was that he used a newer ati driver instead.

The symptoms are still the same, fresh boot = 5-10 mins of glitch free gaming, after that the hitches start, a reload without a reboot may start to glitch at the entry screens before the game even fully loads.

So we are still awaiting an update from the dearest of dear friends at Asus.

BTW I used bios 0307, I still think it's 'better' than 0207 in it's hard drive performance, the rest is personal to everyone's system...........

Still I'm not giving up hope just yet, and I hope someone at Asus is still taking us seriously......

I think the publicity generated is still good enough for Asus to listen, in a way I feel for OCUK, as I too run a business, in the end it was the lesser of 2 evils, we saved everyone from the demon of rma's, and hopefully this will be resolved and sales will rocket.

I feel indebted to OCUK for allowing us almost free reign of the forum to express our experiences, and also allow us to globalise the hunt for a fix.

The great thing is that OCUK are stockists of all the manufacturers who have upcoming RD580 boards, so one way or the other things should work out for all of us.

Best of all I have become acquainted with some very dedicated, level headed people, who are freindly and can work together for the good of all, so all is not lost.

Raja
