Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2011, Yas Marina Circuit - Race 18/19

Don't bother me, but it might his employers...or sponsors...or whatever.
He still comes across as a 12 year old stuck in a 26 year old body...

Of course, this is my opinion...

Personally, I think RBR are aggressively under-filling the tyres, and it was just too low on pressure from the warm up up.

Hence, it slipped off the rim when it was put under load.

This was mentioned in commentary, and it makes more sense than some shenanigans with the rubber etc

Underinflating will give you better traction but at the expense of speed.

Seems more to me that RBR would apportion blame to anyone they could. What would the outcome have been if the tyre had been faulty, rematch? :p

and of course you have proof for this or is it just more internet BS? I await your reply.

There is no direct evidence that there was debris on the track and caused the deflation.

It was not structural failure pireille said "We can confirm that a structural failure was not the cause of Sebastian Vettel's deflation in Abu Dhabi"

So it's anyones guess what happend and I(and many) think what EVH said is about right.
BUT prove us all wrong...what you can't..oh dear

Not emotianal, responsible.

'responsible?'.. he's hardly irresponsible is he?

Apart from the Ali G joke, which was a valid joke, exactly how can you say he's been irresponsible?

Emotions run high and low in F1, the whole Webber glass slamming incident, the Massa arm grabbing confrontation in the pen, I don't see Hamilton as being massively different in any major way, as I don't think any less of MW/Massa for their actions..

Ted Kravitz gave the impression that their was barely any tyre left by the time Vettel got back to the pits. I imagine coming to any conclusion would be difficult.

Dear Madam,

I am writing to you regarding you claim that my post (ref 654) is BS.

I take claims against my post content extremely seriously, so I was disheartened to read your reply, claiming that my personal opinion was a load of old cobblers.

Let me reassure you that I have been watching F1 for many years, and hold no bias against Red Bull as a team or you as an individual; however, I am entitled to my opinion as much as anyone here and I strenuously deny spouting BS to get a reaction.

I have no reason to dis-trust the views and points raised by the BBC F1 team, therefore I would kindly request that if you have any proof that aggressively low tyre pressures were not the root cause of the damage, then can you please contact me directly to discuss it further.

I’m sure you can appreciate that many viewers will take the opinion of Martin Brundle or David Coulthard as Gospel, however, I don’t and the recently released test results from the tyre manufacturer (Pirelli) simply solidify my belief. It is entirely likely the damage was inflicted prior to the beginning of the race, or a flaw in the compound of the rubber that has been, so far undetectable, however until such evidence surfaces I stand by my original post.

May I also suggest, you do not deliberately take offence to all negative criticism; constructive, speculative or otherwise, toward RBR or the staff, and I wish you well in the final race of the season.

Yours lovingly,

EVH

I appreciate you posting here and the occasional tidbits that you reveal. But is there really any reason to be such a **** about it all the time? I remember when you were a much more seemingly level headed person back before the days RBR started winning. Has it "gone to your head" or what? Serious question. For all we know you could be a RBR equivalent of a toilet cleaner albeit with a vivid imagination.

I know I'm not the only person to be thinking this.

Before RBR were winning we didn't have people in here accusing them of cheating and running dangerous set-ups ;) To be expected that he'd get defensive about it no?

Just imagine the points difference if JB hadnt had the two car failures or two KERS issues (there was one much earlier in the season also) and had 100% reliability like Lewis.......Lewis is quite lucky

Yes if you want to look at it completely from the one sided view point that every single Lewis penalty and accident was his fault. I'm no Lewis fan but clearly that wasn't the case. Not to mention the hat full of points that Jenson no doubt robbed him of at Canada.

the time when Lewis crashed into the back of Jenson? You will have a hard time convincing people here about that not being a racing incident...
Awful conditions, JB said he didn't see Lewis and the telemetry says he took the same line.
No chance with that my friend. LH has been beaten fair and square, no-one else to blame but himself.

Im not looking at it completely one sided at all

1) They may not all be his fault per se (like the last Massa incident) - but his judgement (just like in Canada) was out of whack considerably

2) As proven the mirrors are a joke - add the torrential rain in Canada (coming up from the track /wheels and direct from the clouds) , and the fact JB moved across on the EXACT same line lap after lap after lap before and after connecting with LH, the driver behind HAS to allow more space to get through - not to mention other times where Lewis hasnt allowed enough space for his front wing in the dry/clear.

FYI LH has complained about how useless the mirrors are in the dry when trying to see a bright red Ferrari - and considering the move he made in Canada, you think JB had a chance to see him in a silver grey McLaren in the pouring rain? hmmm double standards I think

3) There was still PLENTY of the race to go, and given the odds this season LH would have problably made another mistake anyway, so you have no idea at all how many LH might have got that day

4) I still think JB lost more points in the two "team" retirements + two KERS issue races than LH has lost from accidents NOT completely his fault
