Abu Qatada

Good stuff.

I wonder if it was one of our planes or theirs, I wonder how much it cost. I also wonder how much this whole ridiculous situation cost us.

Was it mainly the EU courts that stopped us deporting him? What would they do if we didn't listen?

I see politicians are congratulating themselves on getting rid of him. The fact remains that he decided to go if certain conditions were met in Jordan. He controlled the process. He could, at the last minute have changed his mind and remained in this country. Remember he won the last court battle to extradite him.
There will be grief only in the firms of lawyers who have done very nicely out of this sorry saga.
One thing forgotten in this whole episode was why was he granted asylum in the first place.

What a load of BS this had been! Am I right in blaming Eu human rights ott policy?

Is this like this that will make people vote to be out of the Eu

Why's he gone then? Cushy tax payer funded life here or Jordanian anal probe there?

It was still the politicians that managed to arrange things such as the conditions were suitable for him to make that decision, which up until now, they weren't. So, as much as it may hurt to say so, they did at least get something right.

Who knows! If he did not want to go he would still have been in this country this morning. His lawyers, according to various media sources, have been able to run rings round the state lawyers for years and with only yet another Appeal to the European Court sometime in the future May had little option but to continue the sorry saga.
Of course, as shown before, even if that had went her way there would have been reviews and appeals then appeals of the reviews etc. etc.

Which would have been irrelevant if yesterday he had stuck two fingers up and said he had hanged his mind. The it would have been European Court some time in future, appeals if it had not gone his way, then reviews, then appeals of reviews etc. etc.
As far as the politicians go you have to remember that if the Jordanians were not keen to get him back they could have refused outright or refused to amend the legislation or dragged it out for years.
Politicians off all shades in this country have nothing to crow about in this sorry saga, they were made to look stupid in their own country and indeed the world as e.g. France got rid off theirs easily enough and they are bound by the same legislation.

It should be remembered that for decades, under the secret policy known as "Londonistan", successive British governments were happy for people like Abu Qatada to be here in the UK, as long as they were preaching hatred against other countries and not us. Hopefully Qatada's leaving the UK marks the beginning of the end of this wicked policy and a new zero-tolerance attitude to Islamic extremism anywhere in the world.

About time, lets hope that the next extremist to claim squatters rights in our country, we don't take quite so long to get rid of them.

now when will they grab adam chowdry and launch him off beachy head with a anvil attached to his feet to aid his flight to someplace else.

Who actually even gives a **** any more?

I think this has been nothing more than British politicians getting embarrassed from the EU, having to drag it out to make it seem like their jobs are worth it, making it more important than it actually is.

I mean...i do not think the BBC can get any less dull than last night, showing a live footage of a plane (at midnight no less, so its dark...very much so) flying away.
