Abu Qatada

Well, luckily we do not live in a Country that ascribes to a "Sins of the Father" mentality.

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree"

I bet you life that the police keeps very close eye on the kids to make sure they're not following in daddies footsteps

A guy who was never charged with anything in the UK spent many years in prison without a trial, was not allowed to see the evidence the SIAC were judging him on or even meet with the person acting as his advocate. After being granted bail the SIAC later rescinded it not because he'd broken the conditions but becuase they thought he might do so in the future.
This is all apparently ok because we don't like him and he's branded a terrorist. Reagrdless of who he is I think this is pretty disgusting treatment and a poor reflection on British justice.

Which is simply rubbish. I'm nothing like either of my parents in temperament or attitudes.

And if they break the law then they can deal with it then...until that time they should not be punished for the actions of their Father.

Surely this, no?

Does anyone have a clue as to what this guy has actually done wrong?

Or are we all just following this herd mentality whereby "he's a very bad man because he holds opposing views", complete with Have I Got News For You hilarious theme tune?

He actually did nothing wrong all he did was just hate speech. He didn't bomb or commit any actual crime.

No no it's justified, you see he has brown skin.

It's nothing to do with brown skin or whatever, it's the fact he pushed hate and antagonism towards the west and was involved in terrorist activities. Which is ironic considering he was living in the west enjoying western freedoms, yet was happy to slap the democratic states that offered him such freedoms.

Had he aired moral arguments and not incited violence and hatred towards the west things would have been different. I find it sad that this wife and kids (who are innocent in this) are also the victim of his decisions.

Lets hope they stop others from living here who actually spread hate about this country. The government wants to grow some balls.
