whilst this guy is a muppet extremist you just cant go around deporting people where they will be tortured. What the daily mail brigade here dont seem to realise is that if we start doing that then not only are we in breach of the Human Rights Act, 1998, EU & UN convention on human rights ( all symbols and rules of a modern democracy)
what leg would we have to stand on when we start condemning syria for torture etc. We have to be an example of human rights, we cant just pick and choose, especially as we are involved in policing the world along with the G8.

Although Abu Qatada is a turd of the highest order we probably should be drawing the line at deporting people who will be tortured. The media should just stop writing about him and perhaps the government should have a think about how the country got into the state where people like him can hold any support within their community.

They protect innocent people but the trade off is that they can be manipulated by bad people. If he stays in this country does he pose a threat to us? If he does aren't my human rights to a safe life being infringed upon?

Jordan provided assurances that he would not be tortured,the ECHR accepted this.

He has now appealed to the SIAC in this country and it is them who have decided he will not get a fair trail as Jordan may use evidence against him obtained via torture.

This is why law is so flawed, no common sense... quit the European court though and before you know it we'll be shipping Gary McKinnon etc. overseas as well. I'd rather Qatada stay in this country and have only this one injustice than open the door to many others just to get rid of this clown.
