Accident with cyclist - Seeking advice

breaking manouver into two, still seems best option, bonnet is quite long, so, maybe that hinders this option.

It is long, But it can still be used to edge to the kerb blocking the pavement, Giving the cyclist no other option than to stop or go onto the road (which would be even more foolish than hurtling down the pavement)

There are people here who are saying 100% cyclist fault - I love OCUK.

He's going 15-20mph on the pavement against the flow of traffic not giving a **** about anyone else but riding like a retard. So I take it if someone walked out of their drive or turned the corner it would be their fault because they didn't see this idiot? Serious?

OP rolled the car forward slowly and safely as he could to get a better view, however idiot cyclist didnt stop.

Apart from the OP didn't as the OP was looking right when the obstruction was to the Left. Had the OP been rolling forward trying to get a better view he would have seen the Cyclist before hearing the bang.

Maybe a split second before the bang. Not enough time to react and avoid him.

If you run across a train track and get hit by a train, is it the train driver's fault because he sees you 1 second before you get pasted?

Nah. Even though the traffic in that lane obviously comes from the left, basic highway crossing code (which you're taught in primary school ffs) is look both ways. He doesn't even give this way a glance, even for a split second. The biker can't take all the blame.

The guy doesnt have time. The motorcyclist is travelling pretty fast down the wrong side of the road...too impatient to wait behind cars? The reason the guy is looking to the left is because thats where the traffic should be coming from lol.

I'm sure he's in view for 2 secs on that video.

On a wide angle camera, not from the drivers eyeline!

The main focus when emerging to turn left is always going to be to the right as that is where most danger is, nobody expects a moron on a cycle doing 15+mph on the pavement. That guy was an accident waiting to happen and his wait ended!

But people with common sense look both ways before actually stepping out :/

You do know a wide angle lens is NOWHERE near as wide as a humans FOV which is usually around 180Deg

How wide is the lens on the dashcam. because my £1400 nikon 14-24 only has a FOV of about 114 deg on a full frame sensor and about 90 Deg on a crop
