Afghanistan - 20 years on

In my life I've never seen the British doing something that the Americans aren't. We're the ones usually trailing behind. But now we've taken the initiative. It is odd how quickly the Americans are trying to get out of there and apparently aren't that bothered about leaving American citizens behind.

Indeed, I always thought they would sacrifice 100 soldier's to rescue 1 person...
How times change.

Don't worry we'll continue sucking the Pentagon's teet regardless of how many times they disappoint or outright harm us.

I'm of the increasingly concrete belief that NATO should be abolished as it's clearly only making Europe lazy.

Claims more hardline Taliban elements are moving towards Kabul from provinces further out who'd want to try and exact revenge against US and UK troops - dunno how much there is to it. Apparently the Taliban currently in control of Kabul are from surrounding districts who are mostly more moderate.

"Haqqani Network, which has close ties with foreign jihadist groups including a long-standing association with al-Qaida."

No wonder people are being killed.

And now the taliban have broken the deal.
Will Biden do something or will he hide?

Yes he said Taliban, they have just got their country back they aren't likely to be hiding amongst those escaping are they? You people do realise not all afghans are Taliban, right?

ISIS did it and so did Iran with terrorists trying to cross the mexico boarder last month.
But luckily the Texas guys gott them.

And stop trying to twist words.
That's old school.

Yes (not every member perhaps, but certainly enough) and they also support other terrorist groups who also want to harm the west.

Exporting sleeper cells to the UK/EU isn't exactly a new tactic is it?

Then that's a problem for the UK government to deal with in each case of admission, it should not get in the way of respecting the work that plenty of Afghans did to help us by giving them an opportunity to escape the mess we contributed to.

I'd also see it as a consequence of interventionism that maybe we should avoid if we don't want to deal with it in the future.

Stop conflating two different groups. Are the Taliban terrorists who want to attack the west or not?

Changing your questions does not make you look good.

The taliban are still on the terrorist list of groups of the world.
And yes they have attacked the west before.

They have been warned not to do it from now on.
But lets see.

Can't you see it on the US list and UK list.
Are you blind or?

I can see the taliban and there friends 6 times.
You do know how the taliban got there name from the Pakistani taliban.

The 1 and only reason they are not mentioned as a whole is that no one can make deals terrorists.

"Taliban’s diplomatic status is further complicated by the fact that the US considers the organisation a terror group for the purposes of immigration by laws passed in the senate and special executives orders signed in the past."

Seams you have a hard on for the taliban.
