Age of Conan

Anyone know how to strip out user info from the game?

I've copied it to an external HDD for a mate to take home to save him installing and patching, but my user account comes up as default each time the game is started. Any way I can remove this from the install folder?

This was easily done in WoW, but I can't seem to find anything that works at the moment. I've even searched the official forums with no luck.
 
Arghhh, I can't create a new character. Got some sort of texture problem, basically all the people ( i think they're people? ) in the background are invisible and I just see heads floating around.
 
Well that's it, I give up. I just can't get it to run well enough. I can't play at 15-20fps. I got it running at 45-55fps earlier but I can't get it back to that even if I change everything to low, I keep getting client errors when changing graphical settings, settings revert back to default on their own, the entire graphical settings thing is a mess, it doesn't make sense. Turning on AA increases my FPS, changing the resolution to a lower resolution and then back to the original resolution increases my FPS. Sometimes If I lower settings I get a worse FPS. I've been here since 12am trying to get it back to how it was, or getting it to at least run well, but I can't. I've had it looking good and running well then I lower a setting and it runs terribly, then I change the setting back to how it was and it still runs terribly. There's no consistency.

I get terrible screen tearing even at 20 fps, if I enable v-sync through ATI tools I lose 10 fps (There's no in-game vsync option). Not good enough.

It looks crap and it runs crap. My system isn't exactly the best right now but it isn't exactly crap either. I dread to think what framerates people will be getting when purchasing it based on either the minimum or recommended system specs, probably about 5 FPS on the absolute lowest settings.


I had it on basically medium settings earlier looking pretty good. Now if put everything on low so it looks way worse, it runs worse? I don't get it. I give up with this game. What a god damn waste of money.

Sure ill take the codes :P But whats your specs? Might be able to help you with the fps issue as there is a fix going around somewhere for some problems.

3 possible solutions

A)You've missed a setting maby the shader model version? Maby you had it running windowed? Maby it was one lower resolution?

B)An overclock has reverted

C)Software has changed? New antivirus running? Spyware? Virus?

A) Well if I try to change it to 2.0 I get a client error, so I just keep it at 3.0.

B) Nothing is overlocked.

C) Don't have any anti-virus crap...etc running, absolute minimum amount of processes running.
 
For people getting issues with higher spec machines (ie lower than expected fps) here is a fix. Someone with a 8800gtx was getting 10-15fps before doing this, then after they are getting 100+ so must be an issue with not having clean drivers or something!

Use the Direct X web updater to make sure you are up to date before you do this. <-- For DX9

1. Boot into safe mode
2. Uninstall Nvidia Driver
3. Run Drive Sweeper for Nvidia Display Driver.
4. Reboot into safe mode again
5. Unistall standard vga adapter driver
6. Restart normally
7. Install latest WHQL drivers from Nvidia Website
8. Masturbate at 50-60fps on High resolution!

Did this under windows vista 32bit ultimate


Ok step 8 is optional.

a) could possibly be driver issues then?

b) overclock perhaps?

c) no anti-virus, maybe you have a virus?

Just a thought.
 
i've been out of the gaming scene for a while but feel like getting back to some mmorpg action. As this game has just being released do you think it would be worth getting into? Is there a two week trail or any kind of offer like that?
 
Seems like funcom have completely messed something up, both european PvP servers won't let me create a new character as it says its full and the european forums are down so can't even see if this is a temporary thing.
