Age of Conan

They just have to make it so loot drops to the ground on the blue players that you kill, risk vrs reward...

Its the only way to make pvp worth while and exciting.

im bit drunk but anyway i think people afraid to move from wow to aoc as they have to move there finger move combos etc ... lol its more action then u have to press a icon to execute a skill u have to combo it with is really cool

As a tendonitis/RSI sufferer this looks like a big negative for me. A few days on AOC with all that twitchy finger stuff would probably have me on anti inflammatories and a wrist brace for weeks.

Does anyone know how to get to Lacheish Plains? I'm trying to do the prospector quest and to progress I have to find 10 silver, I'm assuming thats the place to go for it?

No-one in game seems to know the answer.

The gate you need is in field of the dead.

I use the mouse, I find it easier than the keyboard in this game for some reason and I usually almost exclusively use the keyboard in MMOs.

Clickers are generally ridiculed because its just a fact that you can press buttons faster on a keyboard than you can with a mouse, therefore players that use key bindings are generally better than players who click.

Other than the basic attacks (which you generally never use other than to finish combos) you have to wait for the combos and abilities to cycle anyway, so there's no benefit to using the keyboard for speed.

If Kittencakes actually the game for any length of time rather than spending his time here posting moronic comments he'd know this.

Ah, I get it now. :)

Yeah I usually use keyboard in other MMOs, but as Sleepery explained above, the mouse is just fine in Conan and personally I've found it can even be advantageous if you want to dedicate your left hand to movement etc.

What do you mean abilities to cycle? You mean global cooldown? Isn't that only like 1 second, or maybe less? I got to about level 20 with my Bear Shaman, and I had loads of abilities that I needed to use which I just frankly wouldn't be able to use all effectively by clicking, plus I imagine when you're a higher level with more abilities, plus you're moving around maybe especially in PvP, changing targets...etc, clicking just isn't going to be very effective.

Movement is what your mouse is for, binds > clickers. Soft queueing combos is not the solid case to go either way on the matter, clicking is a distraction, may only be a split second one, but all those split seconds you spend looking for what to click on count. Binds let you keep 100% focus on what is important, whilst being able to maintain complete mobility.

First thing you should do is scrap the default binds anyway, unless you have 8 fingers on your left hand you're going to have a hard time reaching down those number keys in an efficient way. My own personal setup is as follows:

Keyboard binds available:
1, 2, 3, 4, Q, R, T, F, G, C, V and then pressing Shift + 1, 2, 3, 4, Q, R, T, F, G, C, V... so straight away, immediately around your strafe keys with no effort in reaching is 22 available binds, more than enough for the majority of classes main combat functions. As a side note my general rule to binding is as follows, if you find yourself clicking it in combat, ever, bind it.

Mouse buttons can also be assigned to a multitude of functions whilst letting you keep moving, control of the camera for awareness whilst in combat. Leaving you never looking anywhere but dead centre of your screen where the action is... again, never underestimate how detremental looking away for even a split second can be, missing someone starting to cast, spotting the first couple of moves of a certain combo can be the difference between winning and losing when playing against good players. (circle strafing aside)

Lol even when I was playing AoC clicking was a NO. I was using binds straight away.

Back to Warcraft I'm already using multiple alt/ctrl/shift+ combos again, it's just second nature, clicking is crap.

clicking is crap.

LOL at you two. There is no rulebook that says clicking abilities is somehow forbidden in an MMO or that you're some kind of n00b for doing it, especially if it works better for the player.

Like I said; I use the keyboard exclusively in other MMOs because for me the mouse just doesn't cut it, but in Age Of Conan it's very easy to play using the mouse for abilities.

The things people come out with to make themselves feel superior are hilarious, self-esteem issues?

at what point in my post did I use the word forbidden? christ just trying to help people play more efficiently...
You said pretty specifically that "movement is what your mouse is for" and that the first thing I should do is "scrap the default key binds right away", along with a whole essay of other things.

If you don't want people to take it as telling them how to play their game, don't do so. Especially when, for them, the method they've found works just as well (or better). ;)

Funny thing is I already said I use such methods in other MMOs, but I just don't find Conan so attention demanding. The combat is slower, most of the stuff required for healing and buffing your group is AOE etc.

right and did you read the rest, where I made my arguements for why I think thats true?

So first off you say that I proclaimed all clickers are to be forbidden from MMOs: False

Next that from now on in AoC (and I assume any other games?) that asbolutely nobody is allowed in any way shape or form to try and give hints and tips to other players: Ridiculous

I've never seen anybody in a WoW PVP video who was good at clicking and I've watched many, just read the comments and clickers are always told to start using bindings.

Of course I'm just speaking for WoW, but I noticed in Conan keybindings were still better.
