Air conditioning units?!

I empty my water about once a day, although I don't NEED to, but when I hear it I usualy empty it. I got an old baking tray and leave it under the unit and let it drip out sometimes.
zain: My guess is you are talking about those water cooled 'coolers'. I had one of these - left it on in my room for 1 hour, came back and my room temp had gone from 29C to 34C and the humidy was so unbearable I could not stay in the room any longer. They are absolutely fantastic units for increasing room temps and increasing humidity. I wish you all the best!
I usualy leave my air con on for about 30 mins before I go to bed, then I switch it off and try and drop off to sleep quickly.

however the ones in my local tescos have droped down to 149.97..... and with my 10% discount it would be even cheaper. To top it off the unit is MUCH smaller, and has a better energy rating of A, instead of B like the homebase unit

homebase will give you 28 days to return it for a refund used or unused, or thats what they told meOverlag said:

It's supposed to be 33 degrees here on Monday and I live in a loft room so I thought it was a worthwhile purchase.

I can recommend the ones ******s sell for £250.
My bedroom is probably 6m x 5m and the unit gets the room icy cold, whilst the room nest door is 35 degrees!
With large rooms, it will cool it down to a comfortable level, but it won't actually get cold (of course, it dehumidifies too, which helps get rid of the sticky feeling).

Best Air Conditioning Unit?
My computer room, especially during this heat wave, has got unbearable for this room, even with the fan on all the time all it does is blwo the hot air around.
All the flies and moths come in if you leave the window open, so I was thinking it might be a good idea to just invest in an air conditioner for this room so it can be cool no matter what the weather outside.
There are so many options out there, and want to ask you knowledgeable people whats the best one to choose?
There is mobile (portable) units or the fixed units. Might be tempted to go with fixed because then I dont have the open the window to put the hose outside, as it would defeat the purpose of the object. After that, then there is the choice of all those different companies. I just got confused at this stage

i`ve had a 12000BTU aircon for the past 6 years and wouldnt be without it .
my bedroom is south facing and in summer can get up to 95f.
i did try a 9000btu first but it didnt work well enough in my 12x12 room

Picked up a 12,000BTU unit from B&Q yesterday for £249.99 (silver unit, manufactured by 'Airforce'). Very pleased, cooled our computer room at home down from 34°c to 17.5°c by the time I returned 15 mins later (didn't realise it'd be so quick, that was a bit too cold!). Have set the timer for 30 mins before I get home from work today
