***Air Fryer recipe, tips and photos thread***

Tandoori chicken thighs, with shallots & sweetcorn from my garden, and store bought pepper.
Hardly a recipe, but put a generous glug of Greek yogurt, plenty of Tandoori spice mix, loads of cayenne and some lime juice into a bowl to make a marinade.
Slash the thighs, then lob into the bowl and cover for preferably 24/36hrs in the fridge.

Air fry the peppers, shallots etc for 5 mins or so, set aside, then air fry the thighs for 12-15 minutes and finish with the grill for a minute, but don't burn them like I did
Let the chicken rest and finish the veg off for a few minutes.

Heston Blumenthal I'm not, but as a snack it was tasty.

I think I'll try a variation on this, but add in some mild chili flakes for the crispy coating and maybe some finely diced fresh chilli in the glaze.

I bought a rice cooker too, so got the chili hit from chili and spring onion fried rice to go with the wings.

Total hit with my daughter, the wings were ok, beautifully crisp and a nice honey hit, just not my thing.

Will probably try sweet and sour next time and make lots of sauce to go with the rice too, though she demolished 2 plates of the rice with soy sauce.

Just stumbled on this, which may help a little.

It is American, but includes the °C

Chicken thighs for 25 minutes in mine would be well overcooked, about 15minutes seems to get mine to 170-180. Same with sausages, 150c for 10-12 minutes seems to work better for me.

It's why I don't eat anything without checking the temp first though.

Pretty much the same for me and guess it might depend on machine.
I check mine often when doing something new and just remember for future reference.

Useful as a basic guide imo

Same, thermoter is too useful imo.

Not sure if it's mentioned, but a bag of kale, cider vinegar, olive oil and some good salt is very very good! Can't remember timings but should only be a few minutes.

I'm really tempted to get one of these for work so I can cook fresh meat to perfection a la carte for lunches instead of reheating meals in a microwave and eating dry precooked meats with salads.

Question.....do air fryers give off any smoke if using the functions that make things crispy/charred? The smoke alarms are sensitive at my workplace and even grilling bacon on a george foreman can easily trigger the sirens. Having a perfectly cooked steak or kebab or a lamb shank at work would be lush...

I did Pigs in Blankets in Duvets last night. 2 Asda sausage rolls wrapped in streaky bacon and air fried for 15 minutes with some chips. Was exactly as you would expect :)
