Air fryers

Bloody hate clicking on a link on mobile and instantly being taken to the Play store to install their App. I should be able to see the link without doing so. I don't want to install your likely ******* app that gets to see all I'm doing on my phone.

When I clicked that link (Android) using Chrome and Desktop settings, it took me directly to the HotUKdeal website.
You can also select permissions, so as to point the nosy gits away from personal info and the like.

prices on all of these must be coming down now - peak air-fryer reached ? are there any new designs that improve ease of cleaning or aesthetics/footprint

hotuk's annoying, as need to sign in to see historic comments, have started using mydealz.de too, after matynz's recommend.

Ninja just (or recently) released a double stacker so it takes up less of a footprint on the worktop but it’s not meant to work as good as the side by side ones (which are massive) due to the fan being at the back rather than on top so they’re getting mix results. It’s a bit of a design flaw going by all the youtube reviews.

Everyone has one now, so they’ll likely suffer a sales decline so will have to release major upgrades to get people to go for them.

Chicken wings are great air-fried as are chicken escalopes or breaded fish. And if you have left over pizza it's also great for reheating that too... if you don't like eating it cold that is, but that's a different discussion

Still using our air fryer daily but would like to get a dual one. However, due to space limits we'd like a stacked one. I've read some reviews but they were pretty mixed, main fault seems to be top drawer food leaking into bottom drawer. Does anyone have one and can confirm or debunk this? Cheers.

Owning the side by side version of that machine, I can only see that happening if cooking lively food that has the potential to bubble, rise or spit.

I've no opinion on the food leaking, but I think the big drawback with the stacked fryers is that the fans are at the back, instead of the top of the cooking chamber.

One of the reasons air fryers are so good at making food crispy is that the fan pulls moist air up and away from the food, dries it out as it passes through the heating element, then the hot air is pushed back down the sides, and pulled up through the food again.

With a rear-mounted fan/heater, the food at the back near the fan will cook very differently to the food at the front of the chamber.

Chris Young (ex Fat Duck, and co-author of Modernist Cuisine) has a YouTube video for air-fried chips, where he goes through this.

Woah, he micros his fries first then sticks them in the air fryer. His did look superb though.

Chips (that I make myself with just a light spray of olive oil plus some piri piri seasoning) and chicken with a bit of seasoning. That’s pretty much me everyday.

I feel like I should be doing more with my air fryer, but I just use it like any oven, it mainly does chips. Never thought about doing other stuff, my imagination is lacking.
