Which is the best Falcon to build?

Depends, if you want a hyper realistic MF that looks like the original filming model from ESB, i'd still say FineMolds 1/72 MF, But it's insanely hard to build because it's over 1000 pieces. And good luck finding one less that £400 as it's out of production, i bought mine a few years ago as in import from Japan, cost me £120 at the time because it was still in production but i will not be parting from mine, i still intend to build it once i feel i have that level of skill

Right now, bang for buck, the Bandai Falcon is the best you can get.

I got mine directly from japan for £32 delivered.

If you are not into painting yet, then out of the box it's pretty reasonable but the detail is simply stunning.

If your budget is unlimited, then the re-box by revell USA of the fine molds 1/72 falcon is a good option. Expected to pay around $160 plus delivery from the US.

There are other options from revell of europe which are sort of OK but lacking in detail and correct scale height for the sidewall.

For me, it's Bandai all the way for star wars kits. You can get them for reasonable prices if you shop around.

Thanks. Just ordered the Bandai. I am coming back to modelling after a 20 year absence. What's some good kit I can order such as a mat, knife, spray gun, paints etc.

Metal Earth Imperial Star Destroyer.

Metal Earth Imperial Star Destroyer.

OOB build of this very large kit (OK, large subject but nice little kit).

I love those etched metal kits, great timesink doing them properly.

I managed to get hold of some 'unbranded' ones on american amazon a month or so ago, they were $3.75 each for the same models disney were flogging at £15 here.

I do not build kits however I do make WW2 dioramas in 54mm 1/32nd scale.

It is now the time of year to start the 2016 project and this year it will be :

The 1/76 German Secret Strong point

Note : I do not have this kit . in fact I have never actually scene it :) however today started the conversion to 1 32nd scale I require for the final build.

If people are interested I will attempt to complete a build log.

Looks great can I ask how tall the figure is please when built?

I used to build and paint cold cast porcelain garage kits for my local sci fi store a few years back.

Seriously thinking about getting the sand trooper, I had thought about adding some real sand to the base as I think that would really set it off nicely ;)

Cheers all
