I've seen on offer an Airfix A11150 Saturn V Skylab and Revell Scale Apollo Saturn V which i would like to get, only £5 difference. Any ideas which on is better/more accurate?

Thanks - Skyraiders are always fun to weather. The dents on the T34 were made by spinning a dental burr in a Dremel and bouncing it on to the model. The dirt and sand is actually a mix of dark earth paint and mixed spices!

has Airfix kit quality improved over the last 10 years considerably? I would buy a couple of those black friday deals for the pile but I stopped buying their products when the quality dropped in the mid 2000's and switched to revell/eduard/academy

airfix isnt amazing but you can improve on them and make them look great.

The new airfix stuff is very good I'd say. But only the retooled models. I had a 1:72 Defiant which had been in my stash for years. Had a look at it the other day and couldnt believe how much work it would require to get it looking decent. Nothing fit properly!

That is absolutely superb, particularly how you have accentuated the details and weathering. Top Drawer, the lighting effects look fantastic as well.

Hi all, I was after some advice please. I've been doing the Deagostini Falcon build and one of the things I need to do is paint the "prepainted model" :rolleyes:

. It would appear that an airbrush kit would be the way to go, and I could do with some info on what to get. A bit of research shows I need a dual action brush, but apart from that, I have no idea :confused:

The brush will probably only be used to paint this model and then probably stored in the box of "stuff" I have as I'm not really that interested in model making. Cash, as ever is tight. So, what kits would you recommend?

Revell 1:12 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 I bought a few months ago, for just under £25

Engine:

Adding a bit more detail in the radiator, replacing the supplied moulded radiator grill with some small guage wire mesh:

Chassis, with 6" ruler for scale!

As a comparison of size, here is the 1:12 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 engine, next to the Trumpeter 1:25 1964 Ford Futura which I'm also working on:
