Airsoft ??

I'd recommend Land Warrior Airsoft. They are really helpful and patient. Plus, it's next-day delivery.

What kind of gun are you after?

Not sure about the FPS, but I hear a lot of people say Cyma make good AKs. Similarly, people recommend the G&G Combat Machine range as great starter M4s - and very well priced.

the the local site rent guns?
you get to test various gear, see what gun you like the best. plus it will give you time to get your UKARA defence so you can then buy a gun that is not 2-tone. basically you play 3 games in a period of time greater than 2 months, then your get you local site to register you on the UKARA database so you can buy any gear you want.

Yes they have a shop but they don't have a wide range of guns. I'll be going in a couple of weeks. Will be my first time going. One requirement is to wear boots as its outdoors and gets muddy. As for clothes I was gonna wear some combats, tshirt and denim jacket (as armour lol). Face will be covered with cap and face mask.

most people will let you check out their stuff if you need some advise about what to buy, you will probably want to buy 10 guns after seeing all the goodies if you haven't ever been before :D

Just been thinking, do I want a full metal AK47 or plastic? I can't see the advantage of lugging around a full metal one all day. Also anyone recommend a good starter rifle from Landwarriors.co.uk :)

metal will give you more resiliency to knocks and bumps, however considering I carry around a full metal CA m240Mk2 anything is lighter than that lol apart from Inaksu M60 :)

Any reason why you want an AK? Not looked an M4 variant? Only ask as there is a lot more kit for an M4 setup in terms of mags, etc, plus if your in a group you can swap mags as we have done in our in the past.

Good point about the M4, I'll take a look. Anything for around £150 I'll be happy

You will struggle for 150 tbh. China guns like JG and AGM should be in that price range and they are definitely adequte but you need to add extra for battery (some come with, some don't), charger, magazines (most come with a hi-cap - 300-450 rounds). Second hand is double edged, you might get more for less than new or less for more. JG g36 is a solid performer, although i am unsure of the availability these days, they might be called asg .It's not too heavy and the stock folds if you play in tight spaces. The model of gun matters a lot less than the manufacturer.

Also it's been a while since i visited this thread but previous posts mentioned vcra defence and legalities, you need to familiarise yourself with that.

http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/acatalog/Combat_Machine.html - scroll to the bottom for the Combat Machines I mentioned earlier. Like Ethics said above, you'll need a battery and so on.

To be honest, your best course of action would be to try out the rental guns at your site - perhaps even other players' guns, too. Then wait until your UKARA membership is completed so you won't have to two-tone your new addiction - I mean - addition. ;)

Me and my mate want to look at trying out Airsoft and getting into it.

Obviously at this point in time we have no equipment/licence to buy our own guns, so where would we go to try it out, and what sites close to this area would rent us equipment for the day?

I have no idea how out of date this is so use it as a guide and google the sites:

Looks like there are a couple surrounding stratford. One in Redditch, a F&O one called the acedemy (they are fairly big in the site owner stakes) and Stirling training centre. Stirling do your more hardcore Milsim stuff if you want that.

Never played at them but its a good place to start. You will want to look into rental packages they do.

my firend used to have a decent airsoft gun when we were kids. we'd be playing football out his back and all of a sudden you would see a laser dot on the floor then he'd start firing.. they actually hurt pretty badly from a distance. i think he paid a considerable amount for his gun though
