Had an aswesome time on weekend. Went to first and only in Bolton woods. First time doing Airsoft and defo going again, soooo want to get my own gun. Got my eyes on a G&G GR15, two batteries, three 450 round mags, charger and sling for £260.

Hey guys,

im starting airsoft again. The main reason as to why i got put off was because im situated in central london and don't drive. Also im working friday to sunday so it's hard to find close by sites which operate on monday-thursday. Anyone know of any local sites?

always wanted to try airsoft, there is a few places around Devon where i live that do it, but i don't know anyone else that wants to try it :( is it still fun to turn up by yourself and play with the people there, or would you suggest nagging a friend until they agree to go? :P

Depends on who you play with when you get there, I go to the One and Only events and the marashalls are great aswell as the veteran players. You'll get the odd idiot spoiling the fun, complaining and whining all day but just stay away from them... or shoot them "by accident"

so to try it out it would be ok to go by myself? just to see if i like it? maybe if i enjoy it i will be easier to convince a friend to go :P part of the reason no ones wants to go is because its pretty expensive, maybe if i can confirm its good fun :) might give it a go, when its not bloody raining.

Yes defo, give it a go then spread the word on how awesome it is

What's the cheapest reasonable setup to get going with airsoft?

G&G GR15 + 1800 battery + sling + charger + spare magazine = £220 or there abouts

Paintball > Airsoft

anyone? :P

never tried airsoft so i cant say, but paintball was really fun. though the container with all the paintballs in it fell off mid game so i spent ages trying to pick all my paint balls back up before the next round :P i think airsoft will be fun, but i see the "i shot you, no you didnt!" etc thing happening a lot, which you don't get so much with paintball

Can't believe I didn't know we had an airsoft thread! I've been airsofting for around 8 years with a few gaps inbetween. Have recently downsized my collection of stuff as I had far far too much that never got used and just took up space :(

My current weapons, excluding sidearms:

From top left to bottom right:
1. CA MP5A4, metal, upgraded gearbox and li-po battery. Other than that it is stock, and a trusty backup weapon.
2. Scratch built 'weathered' M4 CQB. Top end gearbox, 6.03 barrel, madbull hop unit, li-po battery (since photo now has EOTech sight, M900 flashlight foregrip and cheekrest style stock like the bottom M4. Has also been 'weathered' more)
3. (CO2 GBB) WE M4A1, full metal of course and almost completely replaced internals with RA-TECH components. Daniel Defense milled RIS, M900A flashlight/foregrip, military spec laser unit (not usually fitted), buttplate sling hook
4. Scratch built M4 sopmod/stealth styled. Custom gearbox, madbull barrel & madbull ultimate hop. G&P marine metal body, RIS, outer barrel, buffer tube and stock. ACOG scope, M900A flashlight/foregrip. Guarder flip up front & rear sights and guarder silencer. An/peq laser box, li-po battery in stock.

am i right in thinking you have to be a member of some special club or something to own an airsoft gun? you can only get a bright coloured one without the license?

Yes to own an Airsoft gun you need to become a UKARA member. Normally to become one you have have played 3 Airsoft days and been doing it for more than 2 months. Membership can be had through the Airsoft venue you go to.

OR you can buy a second hand gun off Zeroin.co.uk forums, some guys don't bother asking for UKARA.

Nice!
What kind of FPS do you get out of the CO2 M1A1?

to be able to use it, he'll have something like the RA-TECH NPAS kit installed which reduces the velocity to UK-legal levels.

They usually do around ~350 after one of those is installed.
