Airsoft ??

Yeah, isn't there some funny grey area about spraying a two-tone weapon black? Something about 'manufacturing a realistic imitation firearm'?

swapping the blue parts for black isn't especially difficult, but I wouldn't say it's trivially easy either.

Yes, spraying a two-toned IF back to a RIF is illegal, unless you have a specific defence against the VCRA, in exactly the same way that buying a RIF is illegal, unless you have a specific defence against the VCRA.

And people certainly buy RIFs... I sold four yesterday alone :p

What do you mean by a defence against the VCRA?

Is it not a bit up themselves for some sites not to allow guns that have bits sprayed orange?

It all seems a bit confusing to me starting out in Airsoft with all these silly rules in place by the government.

The way the VCRA is written is that it makes the sale, importation or manufacture of realistic Imitation Firearms Illegal. Completely, and with no exemptions.

Then what the government did was add a "defence" clause to the legislation, which essentially provides three groups (Film-Makers, Reenactors and Airsofters) a "Defense" against prosecution under the law.

Theoretically (it's never happened), you could be arrested and taken to court for buying a RIF despite being UKARA registered, and you'd use your UKARA-registered status as a literal defence in court against the crime you committed.

I know what you're thinking, You're thinking that that's insane, and you're absolutely right.

Thanks Mrs. Blears

The government originally included no such exemptions for airsoft etc. either. It was fought over with the home office. So we're actually quite lucky to still be able to do it.

Anticonscience if you go through the thread there is some useful information in the pages, or visit the various forums suggested. I'm not saying that to be a ***, but there is so much information it is hard to cover it all in some forum posts.

The rules are silly and a bit ill conceived but it is better than nothing. Some sites don't allow two-tone guns as it "ruins their immersion" (generally means the regular players hate them) although it can stifle the sport and an influx of new players. They don't shoot any better or worse than their realistic looking counter parts.

conb123 no offence, but you seem to be spamming a lot today and not adding anything really to any of the threads you post in, are you just trying to spam to get your post count up?

Seems ok to me, they don't make it, just supply the specs given by G&G.

Quoting range is always a bit iffy but it makes no difference to the product.

One you get it DJMK4 i would go around making sure any loose screws are torqued up and clean the barrel, i've bought rifs with barells full of packing grease and all sorts (you should get a cleaning rod with it, if not they are a bastad to find seperately).

You will want to get some silicone spray (as it won't corode the hop rubber). Spray that on the cleaning tissue and run it through with the rod (be very careful of the Hop rubber at the bottom end of the barrel), if dirty, change tissue and repeat, once there is no trace of dirt on the tissue run a few dry ones through to clear out the silicone residue.

After that you will want to tune your hop. There will be a little wheel in the ejection port with an arrow showing which direction for hop. Too little and it won't go very far, too much and it will either sky rocket or jam in the barell. A good range is 50-60M.

obviously be careful where you are testing it, if it's in a garden visible by neighbours you may want to inform them. I have mates who have had a knock on the door because of nosey neighbours.

Hello thread, anyone know where I can sell my G&G, its probably had 2 uses, about 2 months old. I need the cash, to put towards a place :(

G&G M4A1 Carbine with Blowback - Two-Tone

anyone recommend any shipment methods on shipping a G&G M41A two tone in its original box (covered obviously) I have heard royal mail standard parcel but up the insurance value, make sure they dont ship via Parcel force?

A question for yous guys:

I have a CQB length M4 (G&G Raider) and want to add a barrel extension which screws on instead of the flash hider. I bought an ICS extension from Zeroin's classifieds but it doesn't fit. It would be a shame to throw it away so I'm thinking of cutting it down and then adding a 14mm CCW thread to the inside so that it screws onto my existing outer barrel.

Having no tools myself, what's the best way of doing this?

(The extension in question - I want to cut it down at the first notch.)

Ooooh an airsoft thread :D

Me and a few mates decided a couple of months ago that we needed to do something as a group other than hitting the pub now we are all getting older.
So Airsoft it was :D
Loving it so far.
Sig 552 was my first gun.

Added a python tight bore, silencer, and new bucking/nub.

Then picked up a nice g&p sr-15 urx
A few mods later and it's firing 31rps @344fps
Awesome range and accuracy :)
