Airsoft ??

Mmmm, airsoft. i just got a new steel outer-barrel for my P226 which is threaded at the end, and can thus accept a suppressor :D

i look forward to going airsofting ASAP, but it's somewhat dependent on when a mate of mine here in Coventry can get the time...

The Grange Airsoft, incase you were wondering Skully/Shotgun_Ned ;)

There's quite a few EBB ones out now, TM make the M4 SOPMOD (rails and all sorts of crap on it) and the SOCOM. KA make some blowback galils and sig 55*s i think CA make some. Star had the L85A2 (SA80) but its ****. Those are all electric. Gas pistols are fine but SMGs like you say ***** their ammo quicker than a 16 year old virgin.

The few Gas rifles i've tried have awesome recoil (always will be more than electric) but less than awesome accuracy. There are upgrades but gun + upgrades + mags = a lot of dosh.

Ah cool, what is the recoil like on them? Have you used any? Whats the battery life like on them (used to getting a full day use on one battery), but suppose batteries are pretty cheap now.

But yeah there are always upgrades, all depends on the depth of your wallet, like any hobby.

Ok, back from my parents & I did manage to dig my p90 out (sry for the poor image, i still hvnt invested in a decent camera)

Edit: Has anyone been to any of the first & only sites?

The Mall:
'The Mall' is a truly unique CQB Airsoft site with nothing else like it in Europe, if not the world. Based in the Friars Walk shopping centre in the heart of Reading town Berkshire, First & Only Airsoft offers an unparalleled Airsoft gaming experience. The site is a self contained L shaped mall spread across 3 levels with over 250,000sq ft of shop space, walkways, stair cases, lower ground storage rooms, service corridors and loading bays. Whether you like your action up close and personal or over bigger areas with lots of sneaky play, 'The Mall' has everything.

The Asylum:
The Asylum is our biggest urban/FIBUA site. It is based in Kidderminster just south of Birmingham. It is the site of a old Village hospital and includes numerous buildings to play in and around, Roadways for vehicles and wooded areas. This site lends itself to all styles of play and can accommodate in excess of 150 players!!! This site is run every 2 weeks on a Sunday please check out our booking threads on the forums and the pictures in our gallery for more information.

The Tunnels:
F&O bring you our newest site - the tunnels. The site consists of over 250,000 sq ft of tunnels and some very cool woodland on top with two entrances - this is one of the most exiting sites we've ever opened!
The Drakelow Tunnels are a former underground military complex beneath the Kingsford Country Park near the village of Kinver, Staffordshire, which cover 250,000 sq ft (23,000 m2). The tunnels, which have a total length of 3.5 mi (5.6 km) to 4 mi (6.4 km) have a very interesting past and are a historical monument to the military history of the United Kingdom. (From Wikipedia)

This is a fantastic new site, dark, cool, tunnels you could drive a tank down - and we plan to! You will require a torch for some game areas as there are places where there are no lights at all. A perfect place for Resident Evil type games. (If only we could persuade Mila Jojovich to put on some eye protection and come down for a game - even in the dark Bibby couldn't get away with the red mini dress and boots!)

There are a few others but these sound great fun :D

I know of one site near me(sheffield) that did a resident evil night at halloween. They had people dressed up as zombies. You could only use handguns or shotguns.

I bought an ICS M4 RIS in my 1st year of uni.

i never got round to going to a skirmish though :(

Anyone in Newcastle area who's into airsofting fancy introducing me to it??

Blimey First&Only have grown!! When I used to play they only had one site up in the Peak District! I met one of the lads who ran it by chance one day in one of those "Oh you play airsoft, me too!" moments, didn't realise he had those sort of plans!

I sold up when no matter how much money I sank into my Tanaka M700 AICS it just wouldn't shoot worth a damn. I always picked up my .22 rimfires/air rifles and could actually hit stuff, without the ROF from previous AEG's the M700 was a massive massive letdown. Shame really, my neighbour at the time had actually shot the real M700/AICS gun and said the Tanaka was the best replica of a gun he'd ever seen.

Ah I think back when I played F&O only had 1 or 2 sites. The Mall etc all look fab but with work I never really get the time to play any more (hence why my dad pinched the p90 now & then).

Neither of us seem to play any more though due to work etc which is a shame to have a £400ish piece of kit just sitting there :(

Here my girl, although I have now added a metal body kit and sorted that horrible sight mount

Although I think paintball is fun, I prefer airsoft. More tactics and the whole gun modding side.

I also have a gas blowback MAC 11

I pretty much live at The Asylum.

There nearly every game, as well as helping out marshalls etc sometimes.

Here's me putting the boot in one of the office complexes

Also been to the mall,

and The Academy but no photos from back then!

Not been to Drakelow tunnels yet as when I was going to go it was snowed off!

Aod, The Asylum is where you want to be!

I've tried several EBB and the best one by far was the TM. Has a proper recoil system. Whereas most of the others just have a mechanism that racks back the bolt with each shot and the TM ones also has the bolt lock feature, so on the last round in the mag it won't fire till you put in a fresh one and hit the paddle. None of them come close to gas blowback although you pay a big price in accuracy, not to mention they are almost useless in the cold.

I've played at the Mall. When it first came out and wasn't too impressed tbh, it's a decent site with a Gimmick, just didn't work too well. We did go back there later for a milsim which was a whole lot better. Think we're due to play at the asylum, or some hospital type place in March that might be a F&O site.

I miss Airsoft! It was great fun but not been in...4 years now  :(

I've still got most of my kit, although, I think my brother's girlfriend stole my gas M92. I've still got MP5k and, I think, my bfs G36c.

Would love to go again but the site I used to go to has now got my brother and his gf as regulars and she'd just try and start a fight with me, she's already badmouthed me to my friends and any newcomers!

Airsoft is MUCH better than paintball! Paintball is much less exciting and much less tactical imo. Paintballs are pretty easy to dodge from range too and if you go public without your own gun, accuracy is always poor.

The new Bristol Airsoft in the old courthouse is pretty good and its only young. They held to second instalment of Biohazard which is AWESOME. 6 mags maximum, 30 rounds each, zombies everywhere... great fun.

Anyone who prefers paintball clearly hasn't been Airsofting outdoors with a sniper rifle....

i've only ever done the casual paintballing game with a few friends mixed with a few randomers. great fun but ammo seems to be really expensive!!

I wasnt even aware of this whole Airsoft scene untill i read the topic.
any sites i can get more info from? it all seems quite exciting.. and i like modding things :o

can u get flashbangs and grenades? also i wonder if u could make an IED and take that toy tank out LOL!

Thermobaric grenade - http://www.tlsfx.co.uk/p-42-thermobaric-grenade.aspx

Similar to a flashbang.

http://www.tlsfx.co.uk/p-25-ball-grenades-pea.aspx
