Akasa Eclipse 62's Club... Desktop & Machines.

Kama bay filter is a PITA, you need to remove the whole thing and unscrew the fan to get to the filter. I wish there was a little "flap" on the front which poped out so you could clean it that way lol.

I got my bro to spray up my old kama bay a matt black as it was scratched up a bit (and matches the P182 better). I stole the fan filter from the front of my Mirage and put that infront of the fan and used some rubber grommets I had from some old fans to give an extra couple of mm's from the fan itself and the filter.

Nice idea...

Firstly, just want to say thanks to everyone who's posted specs and pics of their Eclipse setups - it was this thread that swung me to buying one... and couldn't want for a better case.

Haven't got around to taking any photos yet, as it's still work in progress (not tidied, and using the fan panel option), but here's system spec to give you an idea.

E8400 @ 3.6Ghz (planning to go for 4 soon),
EVGA 780i motherboard,
4Gb Corsair DDR2 C4DHX @ 4-4-4-12 with Dominator Cooler,
ScanFX 8800GTX OEM,
Asus Silent Knight II Cooler,
Tagan 700 BZ PSU,
plus the usual items.

Replaced the 3 stock case fans with Sharkoon Golfball 2000's, in total running 9 fans, with a Kama Bay front panel (changing it to a 2000 too), and a replacement 60mm Delta (reversed) for the NB on the way tomorrow/Monday.

Getting 43deg on the cores, and GPU diode less than 60 under full load (AoC). Hopefully this will drop further once the airflow from the NB isn't being pushed onto the GTX.

Thanks again. *hugs Eclipse*

Question for Tuniq Tower owners.

I notice some of you are using this cooler in this case.

Can I ask how you got it to fit please because it's about 5mm too high and will not slide back into the case on the tray.

I can't fit it when the motherboard is in the case because there isn't enough room. Perhaps it depends on the motherboard and how far down the CPU socket is. I'm using a Gigabyte EX38 DS5 board.

The only way I can fit it is by having sideways and using the PSU fan to exhaust hot air which I guess isn't idea.

Thanks for your help.

I think the simple solution here would be to REMOVE the motherboard from the case, install the heatsink, then whilst holding the heatsink, guide the motherboard back in to the case (I have done this with the last 3 systems I have built).

All installed :D

very pleased.

ok my psu has died so i'm doing a complete re-fit. its actually quite nice as this will give me a chance to start again with better knowledge.

i'm getting a modular psu and a new sata optical drive as well as some nice cables and a convertor to take all the fan power so i can tuck the cables in the roof. I'm even going for the akasa carpet stuff!

after that i'll just be choosing a GPU and then i'm going to leave my pc alone :o
