Akasa Eclipse 62's Club... Desktop & Machines.

Not posted in a while even though I've upgraded my spec a fair bit. I'm currently having to live at a friends house due to major house renovations on my home. Will be great to get back into my own home and get my desk set back up again as the temporary setup I have here is so blooming cramped...

...especially in comparison to what I was used to:

Anyway here is how my Akasa Mirage used to look like inside:

And now: (could do with a bit better cable tidying though)

The clearance between my HD2900pro heatsink and the X-FI Xtreme Gamer isn't has bad as it looks although I'm having to use a PCI wifi card at the moment (which will be removed asap) so I can access my mates internet connection.

Been considering a kama bay myself and would love to move my hard drives into the 5.25" bays but I'd also like a 2nd Optical Drive (perhaps a blu-ray reader) so that puts me in a pickle really as I can't have both

Do what I did and condense all your little drives into one/two big drives.

I went from 2 x 80GB + 2 x 320GB --> 1 x 1TB, then moved it up into the top 5.25" bay and ripped out all the 3.5 bays. :)

Unless you mount it internally, or failing that sharkoon do a 140 5" bay fan that points up or down and only uses one slot.

Excellent pics M8.... Those Antec Spot Coolers are an excellent edition for cooling memory modules...;)

just ordered a replacement front for my mirage as my current one has 2 clips on the right hand side broken from when I first bought the case over a year ago and snapped the the first time i opened it been a bit loose ever since. Had a choice of all 3 of the fronts but went for the mirage again as its my favorite :D

£21.15 including delivery direct from akasa UK.

Good price by Akasa for replacement front panel... have you receiveded it yet.

Interested to see how they package there panels, could do with a few spares myself...:)
I will post up the package I receive from them...just for you :D

Edit: Just rang akasa they sent it out today so should be here tomorrow. I belive the only cable it comes with is the headers for the mobo which is great for me as I'm going to remove all the other cables.

I'd imagine the ellipse fronts will be even cheaper.

Well recieved my front panel.

Extremly well packaged.

but.... Front panel was second hand, scratched, clips broken, and header cables with heads missing.

called them and they are checking the stock now to see if they can send another.

not impressed.

will post some pictures in a bit.

Struggling to see any major changes with this new case to the original design....

Well, given that it's just an off-the shelf case from Taiwan I think they're just exploring the outer limits of what's feasible with badge engineering.

I'm particularly into the beige Eclipse that can be had for £35.
