Akasa FINALLY answer the prayers of case enthusiasts!!!

Well I bought a Mirage last week, and I really am so happy I did. If asked I would not swap it for any of the new Akasa's. Yep they dont have the plastic front, but IMO the Mirage destroys both of them on pure looks. :cool:

But how diffcuilt is it to design a case that looks half decent? Those things look like 1980's Timewarps. At least the Antec 900 has a certain type of styling. These Akasa's just look terribly lazy. Great, so it took them two years to come up with an exterior that completely sucks.

You are right the Antec 900 has a certain type of styling... Its cramped, sucks in dust like a dyson, and cable management is very bad..:rolleyes:

Imagine it will be the same as the current revision, which iirc is 2 holes. The Eclipse thread will say no doubt :)

Its called subtle styling.
Rather than garish plastic crap.

Its all about opinion, I personally think the standard plastic fronted eclipse a nicer case to look at than the 900. The new Omega is very nice.
 
Nah, these cases look horrendous. And I don't see how everyone can slate the 900 for having plastic when the Eclipse does (or did). Yes, it is about opinion, and people like the look of different things fair enough, but how anyone can think that the Infiniti looks Good is beyond me and my arguement about the Omega is that its just plain lazy. It's not subtle like a Lian Li, it's just fugly. I would have considered buying a nice looking Eclipse but now it just looks awful. Why couldn't it look like the Antec P190?
 
personal tastes are everything in this business...

I don't think that there is a single product on our entire website that absolutely everybody likes...If a company somehow managed to pull off that miracle then they would make an absolute fortune

If I only sold cases that I liked the look of personally then we would probably have about a dozen cases in the entire range

anyway, ETA is after CeBIT. probably late march. Price about £125ish
 
That front looks ugly. The mirage looked bad enough, I think i may be one of the only people that thought the Eclipse 62 actually looked ok...
 
BAHAHAHA....they really should've done some research into the names they used...I made the mistake of searching for "eclipse omega" (sic)...not what I was expecting!

I'm really digging both of those cases, hopefully they'll be out soon enough for my next build.
 
Better looking than the original Eclipse that's for sure, well the front end anyway...but it certainly doesn't land in the 'lookers' category of cases either. Seems good on the other factors though...might turn out to be a nice overall package.
 
Like the Eclipse, it is designed with function over form.
Working with the Eclipse is so easy due to its simple design with everything coming apart quickly.
If it looked good too it would be too good to be true :p

Either that or an extra £80!
