Akasa FINALLY answer the prayers of case enthusiasts!!!

I cant help thinking the price is due to peoples excitement here and the popularity of the eclipse.

I own an eclipse, got it when they first came out. Pretty sure it was cheaper than they are now too.. 70 quid more for an aluminium front.. hmmmm

Anyway spoke to akasa the other day RE some replacement parts. They said this will be avaible next month. You can just buy the front of the omega direct off them if you want and it will fit the mirage/elipse. cost around £30ish with p&p.

So you can buy an omega for £150inc, or buy an eclipse for £105inc and a door for £30inc and pocket the £15, giving you a spare front incase you kick it in :)

But Ocuk description does state this case is different on the inside compared to the 62 or does the 62 house like 6 120mm fans ? Cant recall now adays been a while !

Guess the front is compatible, not sure how that works out anyhow.

Am sure this case once out and about will be £120 in no time.

Full height mesh ventilation in the front and up to six 12cm fans provide a unique system cooling performance. Top and side panels are redesigned to accommodate two 12cm fans and water-cooling radiators. Top, sides and front panels are removable to ensure unrestricted access from all sides and the mirror-finish stainless steel removable motherboard tray enables you to build your system outside with ease and then slide into the chassis.

It musta be redesigned from the inside a bit to allow the extra fans and space for watercooling gear....

Will need the reviews/pics to confirm it though :) but sounds promising at least.

From what I have seen elsewhere, there's a mesh opening 240x120 or thereabouts both on the left side of the case and the top, allowing for 2 120mm fans to be fitted in each, or 2 240 rads.

The one on the left seemed to be near the rear of the case, whilst the one on top was near the front, probably to allow room for the PSU up there.

Found few more bits of info if anyones interested !

Gotta love that touch looks like its the 1st case ive seen to take into consideration front drives like xfis and fan controllers with large knobs plenty of space to close the front at least.

techpowerup had those shots so props to them :)

Also googled hex akasa omega and they sneaked into the cebit 08 showing to bring us a quick video of it... must say it looks good like the side panel ventilation finaly!

Wallets itching....

The side and top have mesh for 4 120 mm fans. I'll have to wait and see about the rest. Part of me hope they didnt change too much.

Actually - the capability to put a 240mm radiator straight in the roof will probably sell more of these than anything else.

Of course, it'll be a normal 240mm radiator, not a PA120.2 as they have funny fan spacings.

Wondering if it would be possible to fit the omega front panel and door to an eclipse. am i right in thinking that theyre basically the same chassis but with a few extra fan spaces on the omega. always liked the idea of a door on a case.

Yep loads of pictures come tuesday. Dont know whats going on with the akasa side panels, every where seems like they are out. I've got to buy a couple in two weeks time so hopefully they will be around by then. if not i'll buy direct from akasa
