***AKG Q701 Official Owners Thread***

It's also where the earcup pivots around on the semi ball hinge bit too. If I attach and remove the cable for example you will hear a world of creaking!

Were the Austrian built ones sporting different plastic material or something then?

Perhaps I'm being too picky and noticing things others don't then?

This is what I mean, just pick them up and wearing them = no obvious creaking but /handle/them a bit, as in move the earcups about in their place or jostle the cable input area and there is creaking like this:

Hmm interesting, I'm wondering then if it's the white ones which make the noise, perhaps even the green ones. Those black ones look like a matte black finish, the white is all glossy as are the green by the looks of it and glossy plastic on glossy plastic does creak when they makes contact.

He merely gently moved them about in that video (I've seen that before anyway). Notice in my video I move them about properly. Gently moving them about the same way as he does I get no noise. It isn't a fit and finish issue, it is the plastic gloss rubbing against the other glossy bits.

Erm and spend more money? No thanks. The black were not available when buying on the Massdrop sale anyway, only white and green.

As I said, these sound so good I can't be bothered to sell and upgrade so it's something that is just an observation really.

Edit*
Apparently one guy on head-fi thinks I am attempting to break my "$300 Q701s" and that he doesn't even treat his cheap chinese stuff the same way and that I may as well throw them against the wall.

Never go full retard folks.

If you only heard the audio and didn't watch the video you could be excused for thinking that.

You use more force plugging in and unplugging the damn cable into the headphone for starters.
