Alcohol and ability to consent

okay...
- first thought was... what's severely intoxicated and why does it only exist in this case, if it's ok for rape then why not for other offences?
- will it be both directions
- is being intoxicated truly an excuse, you don't have to drink to the point of 'lack of judgement' when you're out, it's your own choice in most cases. (note I'm not saying rape is acceptable, this is more of a different perspective on getting drunk)

The legal argument will probably be that you chose to drink in the first place and that your underlying 'carnal' intentions will come to light under the inhibitions of alcohol. So it's something that's heavily on your mind pre intoxication and your foolish choices to drink to the point of complete depravity have brought this to the surface.

Probably bordering on a legal grey area in many respects in western country's, especially one like Britain.

You must have given a statement or she must have dropped the complaint?

Known trouble maker, police knew her, I didn't. No statement, just told them I met her in the pub.

Twenty plus years ago. You wouldn't get away with that nowadays, I'd wager.

No, and that was her plan because i refused to *go out* with her.

I have told this many times, all of this is true, I didn't rape her and it was all consensual. She tried to get me locked up for 5 or so years ... and got away scott free.

Don't shag a drunk bird.

Job done.

Sober sex is way better than drunk sex anyway.

If this goes through, the courts wont be able to handle the amount of prosecutions on a daily basis.

I'm sure every bloke has gone out, got ****ed and taken an equally drunk female friend or acquaintance back home. This isn't going to end well!
