Depends. If you use any upscaling or reconstruction technique DLSS Performance at 4k, the 1080p numbers can be relevant

RAM Tuning is going to be very critical with ADL. Not just better xmp bins but actually working the timings. They're fast cores that need to be fed.

Yeah it was my mistake. The 2x16 kit shot up in price.

No worries. Definately the 'safe' option, cheap 16GB kit just to get things running and play with before Christmas etc. I don't expect the good 6200Mhz - 7000Mhz kits to be available in the UK before next year, judging from responses from live chat's I've done with retailers. Not prepared to pay £400 for a basic 4800Mhz/5200Mhz kit.

10fps higher average FPS in far cry 6 Vs the best AMD chip

TPU tested FC6 with a 5800X. at 1080p it is CPU limited at around 118fps so 10fps more is around 8.5%. This does not compare well to the Intel slide that were claiming a 14% advantage at 1080p with a 3090 vs the 5950X.

Obviously just adding 10fps to the TPU score is not that accurate because different scenes will have different demands but if you want to be cagey with info then we just have to make the best of it.

EDIT: Techspot / HUB also tested FC6 and were getting around 124 fps at 1080p so in that instance 10fps more is just an 8% advantage.

ADL’s performance tomorrow people will see will be impressive.

in a couple of months, when there are high end bins of ddr5, people have more experience tuning the platform and bios has matured, will be another big jump that will make launch day seem weak. Feel free to quote me on this.

That's another reason that I'm waiting a good couple of months before dipping my toe in the ADL water!
