Alder Lake-S leaks

Look at the difference in 0.2% lows, +82%

The difference between 4C/4T and 6C/12T, but even the 1600X is heavily CPU limited.

20% of the price though.

Edit: Actually the i3 9100 isn’t very good value. I though that would be half the cost of the Ryzen chip.

Surprise Intel Technology

Looking forward to Derbauer getting his hand on it , exciting times ahead

Intel might reach "10Ghz" after all.... :D just 15 years later and not quite how they envisaged it.

20% of the price though.

Its fine if you're running a 1650TI, i wouldn't use the i3 tho, with those lows it will feel like sliding bareback down a cheese grater.

Tweet translated to English states :-

The Intel Core i7 12700K will be the most interesting new Intel Processor. At 160 watts, the consumption is outperformed by the 10900k or 11900k. 22689 Points in Cinebench 23 and 8658 in Cinebench 20 with DDR5 4800.

Some more benchmarks 12600k and 12900k :-

Last but not least, the Core i5 12600K. Power consumption is 115 Watts in Cinebench, and even this one outperforms the 10900k/11900k

Some more Benchmarks: Intel i9 12900k with power consumption. 218 Watt in Cinebench 20/23. The performance is quite impressive.

Cinebench 23 is comparable to what Custompc got - 22466, but don't know what speed ram was used
(Although would suggest it was probably 5200 as they review 2 sets in the same issue)

Yes I think these are real benchmarks this time and look about right to me. Intel didn't do bad at all. We just need to get more info on power use and how it behaves under real world gaming and applications used. Tomorrow should be fun.

Nope. Apparently the Corsair UK Site had them for all of 5 minutes around midnight before they immediately sold out!! Even more annoyingly, I was awake...at my PC...F5'ing the Corsair sites.....I just didn't happen to refresh within that tiny 5 minute window!! Arrgghhhh!!

Corsair really have dropped the ball on this one and the CS reps on their own forums and reddit and their online support have gone into hiding!!

Guess you won't get to play with your new CPU on one day then, whats the plan? I'm on a H150i none XT, having to get a Capellix just so I can use the standoff you can't get.

What is the issue number of the custom pc magazine? I have access to subscriber magazines as part of my Hampshire library services account (free if you join a local library) and can "borrow" for free most UK magazines and can see the December issue of Custom PC there but no Alder Lake review noted in this issue!

It's issue 220 - January 2022

If the standoffs appear first I'll pick them up as I have an Elite Capellix H150i that has LGA1200 Brackets and I also bought an Asus Z690 mobo that has LGA1200 holes as well as LGA1700. Technically thats all I need. However, I actually now plan to get the full Retention upgrade Kit and get better value out of it because I can use the actual LGA1700 bracket that comes with it and the shorter standoffs in my system....but I can also use the new AM4 4 point brackets that come in the kit for the H150i RGB Pro XT I am buying for my brothers build with the 5900X. I hate those fiddley 2 point OEM AM4 brackets!!
