Alder Lake-S leaks

The closest thing you will get from an AIO to an open loop water cooler is the one in my signature, its not an Asetek and its better that any AIO of that design.

Its nothing fancy, No RGB, its just a well made chunky AIO that outperforms everything else, and £100 now its not as expensive as a lot of Asetek designs no where near as good.

I think it would be a good cooler for ADL, check for Socket 1700 Brackets first tho.

Asetec really screwed the AIO market. Some of the Swiftech compact kits where top notch coolers.

I got this the other day for ADL based on that and other videos. Don't care about RGB and wanted something simple with great performance. They are selling the bracket for ADL now as well, I ordered mine from the website. Not sure of shipping times etc.

It should do well for ADL :)

I think I will add a case to my order too actually as been considering a new case for a while. Considering the new build will be with the Freezer II 280mm AIO, which is a typically thicker radiator than most other AIOs, even 3 fan ones, wondering what case to go for.

I have a Phanteks Evolv Enthoo with a Corsair H115i currently and it's all good, but want a similarly designed discreet case, no intention of anything RGB because I'm not 12 :p

That kind of thing tipped me over the edge from buying my brother a cheaper 12600K and lower end board and DDR4 Ram and me keeping my 'still not finished building' 5900X/RTX3090 based system...over to deciding to give him my 5900X/X570/4x8GB 3600CL18 and instead buying a 12900K/Maximus Hero/2x16GB 5200/CL36 for myself.

Plan to get serious into MSFS2020 in VR with my new PC and also have a Kickstarter Yaw2 Motion Sim Rig coming early next year to use with it. VR Flight Sim guy compared his 10900K/RTX3090 with his GPU in a 5900X system and while the 5900X combo actually achieved a couple of frames more than the 10900K combo, he said the frame timing or somesuch meant that it seemed to look/feel much smoother on the 10900K system than the 5900X system.

Basically I was just looking for excuses! LOL
a
Its still sketchy but from a couple of snippits the 12600k is looking as fast or faster than a 5900 but will not believe anthing untill some facts start apearing

That's going to be hella fun. :D

Toasty.

I think air cooling would struggle with these now, no?

As long as the heat sink can wick the heat away from the chip fast enough and you enough airflow through the case a good HSF setup will be fine.

Nearly all servers are air cooled and can deal with 4x 300 watt CPU’s.

The key is having right combination of cooling.

This has been my conundrum.

I have the Enthoo Pro-M, the RAD is mounted in the top as that the only place it will fit, i'd quite like to mount it in the front (pipes down) but for a 360 RAD you need a larger case, around £150.

I like the Phanteks Eclipse P500 Air and the Corseair 5000D Air, i'm not in to heavily stylised cases, i like clean simple designs and the Corsair case fits that perfectly, the Phanteks looks good too and i do like a little bit of RGB if done tastefully.

So far those are the two best cases to my liking. The Corsair case also comes in White/Grey which i like but i have a feeling in a year or two it will turn yellow, that puts me off it.

Exactly the issue I had when I fitted an RTX 3080. It just needed so much attending too and screwed with the temps of everything, including the room.

One does simply not fit a 350 watt graphics cards into a high performance desktop system.

Thanks I currently have about 15 ocuk tabs open on cases that looked nice but I'm finding bits I don't like when looking at the closer pics lol. I like both of those linked although the Phanteks one has a few more "Ripspeed" lines than I'd prefer so the Corsair looks like it will be the one. Front USB-C is a bonus too for my phone etc.

Now to just decide!

I too will be mounting the 280mm rad on the front as think I prefer it this way as gives more room to work on the mobo when needed and just have the top slots as 140mm exhausts. Gonna be re-using my P14 PWM case fans and leaving the included Freezer II fans as they're cool anyway and silent.

I have a feeling it will be the Corsair 5000D Airflow you linked though! One thing to check is how much dust those big open vents take in? My case is floor located (though sat on a wooden plank the same size as the case) so without a mesh filter behind the front grille I can see a lot of dust coming into the case which would be an issue for me as I clean the filters every few months currently.

Yeah i really like that case too ^^^

TBH i don't even know why i want to mount the RAD at the front, its probably not even going to make any difference to my CPU temps, which at 60 to 80c are pretty good for a 5800X with its pinhead sized chips....

Right now looking in to my Enthoo Pro-M the fat RAD hangs about 2" over the top of the RAM sticks, its completely obscured the top VRM HS, it takes up far too much of the vertical space inside the case, it looks like it doesn't belong there, i don't like the look of it.

If the new case i'm looking for had a few more inches of top room to accommodate a fat RAD so it doesn't over hang the top quarter of the Motherboard i would probably go for that, i'm quite happy top mounting the RAD.

Gamers Nexus reviewed the exact case and it rated well so that's me sold. OcUK has another sale :p

This build is gonna be even cleaner than my current lol. Cannot wait!

Edit*
Do OcUK do price matches on these cases?

@mrk Also have a look at the 4000D airflow, its a smaller case, doesn't have the hight for a 360mm RAD in the front but a 280 will fit, also doesn't have the 3 fans on the back panel but to me that just looks better, i don't see the point of those, unless you want to mount the RAD there, not a bad idea actually.

Its still the same clean look and its a lot cheaper https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...k-tempered-glass-cc-9011200-ww-ca-25g-cs.html

I love this clean look with the tiny yellow Corsair logo, that's a nice touch.

I have my basket filled up and ready to go but the only thing stopping me is the ram I want the 32 gig led corsair ram have to sit it out until ram comes in.
