All 11th gen Intel boards after March last year support it as do all CPUs for said boards. If your RTX 30 already has the vbios update and you install the latest drivers then yeah should be usable out the box.

It’s very unlikely I’ll buy LGA 1700 unless Intel increase core counts and lower power consumption.

16 big cores and 16 little with half decent ARC graphics at 250 watt and I’d be Interested.

I’m air cooling everything currently.

If I was buying a 250watt chip for a desktop (EPYC Milan-X workstation) I’d go proper water cooling and I don’t mean ArseTec RGB AIO.

I was thinking I was future proofed for atleast a couple of years when I bought my Corsair HX1000 PSU. It’s now becoming a baseline with these high end components.
 
The closest thing you will get from an AIO to an open loop water cooler is the one in my signature, its not an Asetek and its better that any AIO of that design.

Its nothing fancy, No RGB, its just a well made chunky AIO that outperforms everything else, and £100 now its not as expensive as a lot of Asetek designs no where near as good.

I think it would be a good cooler for ADL, check for Socket 1700 Brackets first tho.

I got this the other day for ADL based on that and other videos. Don't care about RGB and wanted something simple with great performance. They are selling the bracket for ADL now as well, I ordered mine from the website. Not sure of shipping times etc.

Wait for GEN5 SSD’s looks like those could require a substantial heat sink or active cooling.

VR Flight Sim guy compared his 10900K/RTX3090 with his GPU in a 5900X system and while the 5900X combo actually achieved a couple of frames more than the 10900K combo, he said the frame timing or somesuch meant that it seemed to look/feel much smoother on the 10900K system than the 5900X system.

That happens if you try aircooling (Dark Rock Pro 4) with the Intel Core i9 12900k on PL1=241 and Prime95. Lets Go for 100 degrees. At least the e-core are still ok ;)
