Alder Lake-S leaks

@mrk Also have a look at the 4000D airflow, its a smaller case, doesn't have the hight for a 360mm RAD in the front but a 280 will fit, also doesn't have the 3 fans on the back panel but to me that just looks better, i don't see the point of those, unless you want to mount the RAD there, not a bad idea actually.

Its still the same clean look and its a lot cheaper https://www.overclockers.co.uk/cors...k-tempered-glass-cc-9011200-ww-ca-25g-cs.html

I love this clean look with the tiny yellow Corsair logo, that's a nice touch.

I guess this will give more slack to the tubing of the AIO when rad is at the front too since the pipes have to be at the bottom. Hmm good shout. I notice one less USB port at the top front but also still has the USB-C so that's good.

Does the 4000D support a 140mm fan at the back? Might be going blind but looks like 120mm only? All my P14 PWM fans are 140mm!

Edit*
Rewatching the 5000D review linked above I see most of the niggles noted by GN on the 4000D are sorted on the 5000D. I've also found the 5000D a lot cheaper so will just go for that. I can mount the 280mm rad on the side or the front so that's good for me!

You also won’t be impressed when your Cinebench threads turn from red to blue

:cry::cry::cry:

Only way to compete with AMD.

I don't have time to do it, its become a chore, if someone wants to do a new one go for it....

No, just a 120mm.

Motherboards are not my remit sorry, @ScottiB can maybe help but like DDR5 the volume is probably not until later this month which by then no doubt all the processors will be sold out......

What about orders such as mine, for CPU & Motherboard - if not enough motherboard stock tomorrow, will the CPU's be shipped out separately on the same order?

Edit - Doh, didn't see Gibbo's first post. Fingers crossed I ordered early enough for what stock there will be of the Maximus Z690 Hero

Any rumblings of Soc 1700 Xeons? and C chipsets?

Probably too early, but that could tempt me with the right motherboard.

6+6+2 Alderlake, C300 chipset with 6x mini SAS or 24 SATA 6~ and 512gb of DDR5 ECC.

I have my basket filled up and ready to go but the only thing stopping me is the ram I want the 32 gig led corsair ram have to sit it out until ram comes in.

Was told December/January for the Corsair RAM - by then the CPU's will be sold out most likely, as per Gibbo's comments.

5000D ordered with a 120mm Arctic PWN PST fan  The changes over the 4000D were enough to warrant the extra cost for me and I will mount the rad on the front side area as that looks most efficient leaving 2x 140mm for front intake.

Nice!

My Asus mobo still showing pre-order though which is not cool...

Edit*
Is a rear exhaust even needed any more? I realise now I will have the top vents to use as exhaust, so could just move my current 140mm PST to the rear top that becomes the exhaust...

Thanks I currently have about 15 ocuk tabs open on cases that looked nice but I'm finding bits I don't like when looking at the closer pics lol. I like both of those linked although the Phanteks one has a few more "Ripspeed" lines than I'd prefer so the Corsair looks like it will be the one. Front USB-C is a bonus too for my phone etc.

Now to just decide!

That was where I was this time last year. Couldn't find a case I liked except the Lian-Li 011D stood out for me from everything I looked.

Every other case had something wrong that I didn't like. There seems to be so many cases today that are quite meh.

I think that 5000D Airflow balances the scales for discreetness and functionality. Has the airflow and options for mounting everything I need effectively. Also means I can keep running all the fans at very low rpm for pure silence which is a bonus and get even better cooling than I have now with a solid front panel case (Phanteks Enthoo Evolv).

I'm more excited about doing my cable routing than anything else bizarrely lol. No internal 3.5" drives, only 1x SATA 8TB so I think I will have the on display somewhere in the main cabin with the cables hidden out of view. Neat.

So has Intel completely given up making HEDT CPUs?

DDR5 offers Intel an advantage in that market. 512gb over 4 slots could be tempting as long as you are not looking for over 16 cores or lots of CPU horsepower.

Highend AM4 only supports 256gb after that you are looking at TRX40, WRX80 and EPYC boards.
